Fing some old growth redwoods. Standing next to a giant redwood will let you know how insignificant you (we) really are.

You can find out information about your visit at Humboldt Living's Towns under Fortuna (http://www.humboldtliving.com/towns.php?town=4) (that's closest to Rio Dell).

You can find out about local events going on in all of Humboldt County (http://www.humboldtliving.com/events.php).

Or you can read some articles about living in Humboldt County (http://www.humboldtliving.com/articles.php).

Hope you enjoy your visit :)---*

If you get a chance stop in Arcata at the dispensary on I street. They charge $41 1/8. You just need to pick the strain yourself since the folks there are not much help in that area. The folks in line are not much help either. Should make for a melow afternoon.

Man, from a patients perspective, the I street coop used to be AWESOME. I moved out of town about 6 years back, and by the time I had returned to visit, it had apparently changed ownership or management or something, because it had gone way down hill.

I still have one of the old Humboldt Cooperative T-shirts though! :thumbsup:You know, the one with the rainclouds and the mountains that look like it was made by an 8 year old with construction paper cut outs?

As far as stuff to do in Rio Dell, not a whole lot other than hiking around. Bring some rain clothes! Head a little south and towards the coast for Kings Range, beautiful mountains. And if you have a little time, you can find some really nice beaches for agate hunting.

And of course the flowers... :D
