I went through a couple bowls and im watching this Jackie Chan movie right now on tv called Drunken master. Its basically about being able to master the art of kung fu while drunk. I heard that fighting style was real. This is probably a dumb question but has there been any thought of mastering being high? Not necessarily through martial arts.

Well... i noticed my reflexes goes WAY faster when im high... i used to play soccer, and as i was the keeper i had to have very fast reflexes... the nice thing was when i was high everything seemed to be a bit slower, so i could see where the ball was going to, and could catch it far easily.

Haha man that would be a very hard style to master. Its all about unpredictability, using unusual moves to block/attack with. I would think you need a loooot of speed first so it would be good to start out with kung fu or maybe jeet kune do (because its less rigid and you try to adapt to a fight).

Seriously :hippy::rasta::rastasmoke:

besides any martial arts other than Jujitsu and Muay Thai are worthless in any actual fights because:

Karate, Taekwondo and many other martial art forms are only practiced against other of the same form, thats why when you see a Karate vs Muay Thai, karate gets beat down cause the distance Muay Thai fighters fight at, makes it so Karate cant use 50% of their retarded wax on wax off swipes and 99% of their kicks. They just end up trying to block and get owned.

Not saying those martial art forms are worthless to have, but most people take Martial arts to get a grip on some self defense techniques, and I'm pretty sure a attacker Isn't gonna stand there and let you get enough distance away to do a spinning high kick or some dumb shit like that.

But I have zero training in any martial arts so what do I know?

But I do know, a ground and pound elbows hurt ALOTTT more than a leg sweep to get a point.......

Fighting style means one thing, not shit.

It's the fighter, how hard they've trained, and their natural talent.

MMA fighters rape most other martial artists, and there's not one specialized fighter in MMA, not one.

I dont want to get into a battle, but there are many many fighters who have been belt holders or champs of a tourney fights that are just one fighting technique.

I clearly wouldn't have to list any, cause theres so many, you would already know.

Throwing up straw man rebuttals doesn't fly bro.

Name one UFC or K-1 champ, who trained exclusively in one singular fighting style only while they obtained a belt.

When I competed in mixed martial arts competitions I'd trained in 4 disciplines (my school taught for self defense, but I got to go compete). I learned Shaolin Kung Fu, Police Grappling, Ken Po, and trained in General Kickboxing.

My school raped most singular martial arts schools, I lost one match, and that was to someone in my same school.

Royce Gracie
and all the gracie's that trained under him, including the gracie hunter

Im not theres alot of fighters that train many different Martial arts, but most of it has to do with stand up, grappling, and kicking... not blocking or take downs IE, alot of the POINT system martial arts....

I would imagine brazilian ju jitsu would qualify as a singular martial art.

I was referring to those in a strictly karate, kickboxing, boxing, judo, wrestling don't stand up in MMA, as they don't touch base enough on the 3 skills.

You have to remember though, karate and a lot of other matial arts were designed with self defense or a "strike and flee" type of technique. No one style is superior to the other, some maybe are better for athletes who compete in MMA but thats not to say that some 75 year old master of whatever style could'nt beat the top MMA guys blindfolded. I think it has to do more with the individual.

I agree, it kinda ties into my previous statement, but if you spend time being a good fighter, no matter the style, if you've put in the effort and had the smarts to learn from your mistakes, you'll be a good fighter.

I think fighting when high is much easier, well at least coping with keeping a clear mind. Ive sat and laughed at numerous drunk fights, never once would I fight drunk, theres a lot of guys who look for trouble when there drunk.
"HEY...HEY...hey...hey...he...he..eh...he..did something"
"get 'um!"
*cue army of drunken men falling over each other, punching thin air and pulling the classic fight stopper...the headlock!*
