Does anyone know of or use any good sampling programs for the PC?

I've seen a friend use a very good program, however it was only designed for the Mac and from my recollection it was pricy at £700 or so :twocents:(found out it was Logic Pro after google search).

What are some of the best programs to use on a PC for music sampling?

EDIT: Ok, my memory is clearly shit seeing as Logic Pro 8 is $199

Fruity loops, sonic synths.. these are the best and the cheapest alternatives I can think of right now..

I use Reason to play samples and Audacity to fine-edit, I hear Fruity Loops is also very good, but I have not tried that.
