i was wondering why some of my plants decided to flower on there own. i got some vegging at 18-6 and one day i seen little white hairs. not really complaning though it saves me the trouble so now i got 10 more to move into my flowering side of the closet. i was just curious let me know what u think.

Are you sure they're bud hairs? Could they be part of normal female growth shoots?

They can look very similar. I guess you'll know if you see bud growth. If it is, I can't explain it.

maybe auto flower or maybe its just showing maturity but not going into flower.

my mothers have pistols but stay in veg an easy way to tell is if new growth alternates nodes to a left right sprout instead of two nodes opposite of each other

From what I read in some of the post around here it sounds to me like you have preflowers.

no worries, a lot of times when a plant is mature enough it will start alternating nodes and hairs will emerge before you iniciate flowering.

if you want to keep it in veg i would put the lights on 24/0 and make sure your plants getting some nitrogen. :twocents:

Yeah, if you don't know what you've got it may be a ruderalla strain (sp?). These autoflower no matter what the light schedule.

if your running 18/6 and getting balls already. it should be a rudarella or auto flower at a month of growth that sounds like the best answer i can give w/o a pic

Here are a few pictures if anyone can identify better. are those lil flowers gonna stay the whole time or will they go back to vegging? any help is appreciated. I dunno if you can see the hairs or not in the pictures. i tried to get one close one.

I don't know for sure what visual traits autoflower plants posses, but if it's not one, it looks more like a sativa dominant plant. From those photos I can't see any indication that the plant is flowering. It looks like one of my normal female plants, except more like a sativa than mine. Just guessing, but if not a ruderalis then it's maybe 75% sativa.

You'll probably want a bigger container soon, but other than that I don't see anything wrong. (That doesn't necessarily mean nothing's wrong.) I don't see flowers or preflowers. Can you put your camera on macro, hold it real still (tripod?), and get real close to what you are concerned about? Preflowers are a little pod about 1/8 inch in diameter. The grow right in the crease where a new branch comes out of the main stem. Considering the size of the plant, you should be able to sex it using preflowers. Carefully open the outer layer of the pod and look inside with a magnifying glass. If there are hairs, she's a female. If there are balls, he's a male.

i dont see any signs of flowering, but its definatly mature and is prolly gettin two white hairs at each crotch. you asked the question about a week ago so maybe its only a week into flower watch for more pistils bunching at the top.

what kind of lighting do you have?

if no macro, a magnifying glass in front of your camera might help, if its digital youll see easily. There some pics in a thread called georgia grow or some thing, opie knows , of a ruderalis plants flowering check those

as opie said get a bigger container. i have noticed that when my plants are rootbound for a while (still in veg) they start to show their sex a little early. I think it might be a survival thing...the plant doesnt think it will get any more root space than it already has so it starts to flower, so it can reproduce.:twocents:

Here is a picture where you can see the pistals coming out. Most the other ones have these but there smaller. but some went back to veg stage.

Here's that thread. http://boards.cannabis.com/outdoor-growing/149671-my-first-georgia-outdoor-grow.html

The pictures just look like normal preflowers to me, but they are a little larger than I'm used to.

i agree with opie those are some monster pistols, and it just looks like normal preflowers showing maturity if its flowering they will start to cluster on the tops of branches
i have some about a week in ill see if i can get a pic when theyre awake

does any body know if you can get seed from preflowers?
