Help with random saliva test

I have been viewing these forums for quite some time and have never posted, but now I find myself in a very difficult situation and need some help. I have been working for the same large company for over 30 years. A few days ago they announced a new random drug test policy. I am not a real heavy smoker, but quite frequent. I smoke about one joint every night, and have been doing so for many years now. I have searched this forum and understand that if I quit for about 48 hours I should be OK to pass. But this is a RANDOM test. I donâ??t know all the details yet but I doubt they will just stop by my cubical for a swab test. I assume I will get a call from medical to report for the test and this will give maybe 15 mins or so to stop by a restroom and prepare.

Any suggestions???? Do these special mouthwashes work? Do the altoid mints really help? There are some very knowledgeable people here so any advice would be greatly appreciated. This sucks, I am literally unable to eat or sleep normally from the anxiety caused by this new testing policy��� Fakeboobsrule are you out there???

Saliva tests can go back as far as 96 hours. The only way to pinpoint how long it will take you to get clean is test yourself. If your going to be subjected to random testing your going to have to abstain for good. I don't think you will have enough time to prepare before a test. They do make detox products that may help but none are 100% reliable. I would stay clean for a while and see how the testing is conducted then you can figure out what you need to do to keep smoking.

Deige... Thank you very much for your reply, I do appreciate it. I would have to say that your advice is pretty good. One more question........ Has anybody here used the "Toxin Rid Mouthwash" (or any others)??? How good does it work???

When I had to take a saliva test for a job I had actually smoked that morning, and daily before that point, and they surprised me with it. Thankfully I was nervous and had eaten a bunch of Altoids beforehand.... I did pass. So the Altoids worked, at least for me :)

Wow rachelfury that is great news. Thanks for sharing that info. By the way...... You said you "ate" a bunch of altoids, did you actually eat them or let them dissolve in your mouth. Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question, it is just that I want to be totally prepared. Thanks Again.

Well I got the Altoids and it is back to work tommorow, that is when the random testing starts. Who knows they could test me this week, or it could be months. I will have a little time to prepare, brush, gargle........ I just have to hope for the best.
