nb I haven't thought this through.

Just ran across a thread about mj tea. Treating mj like regular tea - steeping it in hot water - is, as far as I can tell, utterly hopeless as a method of ingesting cannabis.

BUT -

several people report having very tasty tea - tastes like bud smells - which doesn't get them high.

Hmmm... Are the flavor compounds water-soluble? The terpenes & other volatile perfumey-type-things?

Which leads me to think of the water cure I've read about - soaking cured bud in water in order to dissolve out the various water-soluble things one doesn't want in one's concentrate - chlorophyll, etc.

SO: As the start of a water-cure, you make tasty, inactive tea. With your water-cured bud, you make presumably cleaner Green Dragon.

Take the one with the other...once you get the time-step dance down, wouldn't you get a tea-like bev both tasty & effective? Or would the hash oil just precipitate out & stick to the side of the cup?

seems like there might be some possibilities here.

I believe you can put a little butter in the water to absorb the thc. Let it steep for maybe 15 minutes or a bit longer. Place on a mug warmer to keep the temp up and I bet it would work. Anyone want to give it a try?

The only "tea" method I've heard of that makes sense is simmering the bud in cream, & then using that cream in tea. Doesn't sound very efficient, but I imagine it would work.

I've never tried my experiment (above).

THC being almost insoluble in water, no way is the tea going to get you high. However, there ARE pain relieving compounds in the tea. MS patients have had good results from drinking cannabis tea.

I drink cannabis tea just because I like the flavor and I am convinced it is just plain good for you.
