Well here goes nothing. A little late starting this, but better late than never.

400w MH/HPS in a 4' x 4' x 6' space
Mylar walls ( 3...dont ask;) )
Soil grow
A few fans moving some air around
Fox Farm nutes

Seeds ordered: Blueberry, Belladonna, Mango and Sweet Tooth ( ST was freebie)

Ok I germinated the beans in a few damp paper towels on a small plate (each strain) and covered them with a similar sized bowl. It took only 36 hours or so for the BB and the BD to pop. The ST followed 12 hours later. The Mango was a complete dissapointment. Not 1 of em' popped. The only 2 that cracked a lil' just sprouted a 1/16" nub and stopped. I am not angry at the seed bank (weedseeds), they will send me a different strain in good faith. But the genetics came from KCbrains, as I was told. All of the other (24) lol worked out just fine.

Planted the beans in a 16oz Solo plastic cup w/ Pro-Mix/Perlite mixture. They had about a 1/4" tail on em at the time. All sprouted except one BD and as of today are at about the 4-5 stage (It's been 1 1/2 weeks).

As of tonight I am transplanting them into 1 gallon pots (cheap thin plastic w/ several drain holes ) which will be EZ to cut open and trans after sexing. I bought a bag of Ocean Forrest soil and a new bottle of Grow Big.

A few more pics and one of the plants after transplant.

I will be updating this thred every few days or so. And instead of spending more $$ on a new camera I will get a USB extention for this POS LifeCam so I can snap em' in growroom ;)

Ok, I feel pretty dumb. I have been trying to grow for 1 1/2 yrs now too little to minor success. I promised myself this time I would take ALL steps to ensure a healthy environment for my babies.

I started noticing some "splotching" of yellow on my bottom fan leaves. Obviouslly far too early for this to be happening, so I decided to start from square 1 again. Only this time i took a sample of my tap water to a local "Pool guy" for some testing. I had bought a pretty expensive water Ph test kit, and even a digital one eventually. I was reading what I thought was around 6.5 to 6.9 Ph so I never worried about my water source. After a PROFESSIONAL (LOL) tested my water he found it to be arong 8.1 to 8.3 Ph. I almost passed out!!! He even said I looked a lil pale. After a few bong hits and some personal verbal abuse, I headed back to the store to get some advice. To make a long story a lil shorter I got some instruction and a test kit that cost me $4.99 (OMG) and some Ph down for $4.99 (PFFT). Here are a few pics for the record.

Having grow like 6 times w/ my non-adjusted tap water, all the problems I ran into in the past seem reasonable. PH!!!!!!

Well it is now 2 1/2 weeks or so from the start and I just watered em' w/ some GOOD water w/ some grow big (1 tsp/gal). I hope they like the new water supply. I had a ext for the camera, but believe it or not some1 stole it outta my car. So, I will not be able to get pics of all my plants till I get another one. Here are a few of each strain. Got 4 Blueberry, 2 Belladonna and 2 Sweet Tooth

OK, so all my plants but one (8) are looking very healthy. One of the strains is sweet tooth and I have two of them started from seed.

Two things I do not understand. One, why do none of the other plants show nething like this? Two, is it worth keeping? all the shoot growth is green and healthy. It appears to be the first 3 sets of fan leaves. The new growth on top looks OK. I have posted a few pics, notice the one of both of the same strain next to one another, big difference. And the new shoot growth compared to the existing leaves. Sorry the pics so bad. I am a burnout and would rather have nugs than a new camera;)

P.S. - When should I start the Molasses? I am at week 2.5 and am on 1/2 strength Grow Big. I plan on going to full Tsp on week 3 and a 12/12 cycle at week 4. Fresh Ocean Forrest soil (week old)

Well, a few update pics if anyone is looking;) The first is one plant of each strain...from left to right. Sweet Tooth, Blueberry and Belladonna. The other photo is a shot of the shoot dev on the blueberry.

I had ANOTHER blown bulb...the 3rd one overall. This MH conversion situation seems to be doing great vegging the plants, better than the HPS. But if they keep blowing, how is it going to help. The supply company replaces them, thank you HTG Supply, but it takes a week to get one. Does anyone know if the switching between the MH and HPS will do any damage to the plants in veg. They look fine.

I raised the light to about 2' above the plants. I was keeping it real low to try to stop stretching....but now I am concerned they are too short. Only been a few days and I see a noticable stretch happening. I just want em a lil bigger cause I plan on cloning them and it will help with clone stem length (more clones).

And one more added comment. The pH down'd water seems to be the ticket. There is a very noticable smell in the air now.....I love it so;)

I have switched my light to 12/12 in hopes of finding nothing but females. Acctually I need a few males, cause the closet looks like a jungle at the moment....I need the room. Man are these plants looking good. They are on average about a foot tall, but have about 12-13 stages and so many shoots!!!! Hooray for Blueberry.

One slight problem. I have a window screen on one side of my grow area, and i open the closet door to let more air circulate around in there, and it keeps temp down w/ the door open. The screen is strictly for protection from cats, I have 2 monsters. I took the screen down thinking my cats would no better not to touch them. Smoker, the one in the pic decided he wanted a lil taste and ate about 10-15 leaves. He was belly up on the floor for about 6 hrs, just staring at the ceiling. 2 funny.

Went to full stregth Grow Big last week (1 tspn/gal) and started adding some molasses (1/2 tspn/gal).

Pics of plants are ST,BB and BD from left to right, and a pic of the BB shoot dev. And of course 2 of the pot monster ;)

Damn, Slayer, those things are taking off. I have no idea about your spotting, just glad it is only happening to one.

I am subscribed and will be watching. Best of luck! :hippy:

Thanks for the response!!!! I cut all the spotted leaves off (2 sets of fan leaves) about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Have not seen any new spotty/crinkled leaves. I was thinking of submitting it to an ugliest plant contest....it was a sure winner....;) All i know is it is gone.

This is not the best pic (camera phone) but best I can do to show the whole family and their home.

Well it started out great......first three plants I checked, 2 BB and 1 BD, were all confirmed beautiful ladies. The other BD and 3 BB show only signs of pending nutsacks. Since the others showed so early (2nd 12 hour day) I figure these 4 to be males. But I will wait and see. Both ST show little or no sign of anything yet, but it is pretty early.

A question....If I dare attempt to clone the females I got, I obviouslly have to re-veg them first. But for how long do I veg before I clone?????? And if i do attempt it, does the roll-back affect the plant (OG Mom) in any negative way???? (Besides the added few weeks to the grow time)

slayer34ny
05-17-2008, 03:34 PM
Well I am a little disappointed. 5 males...only 3 females. And on top of that I lost a strain.....both Sweet Tooth's were males. So I am left w/ 1 Belladonna and 2 Blueberry's. Guess i cant be too bitter, all the plants look great! I got some major stage/shoot development.

A few updated pics. The first is of all 5 males. The second is of one of the male BB, I really wanted this one to turn out female....so beautiful. The last two are of the BB growth. I counted 12 stages at only 11" high ;).

A few questions.
1) I have been led to believe I have to re-veg these females for about a week before I take any cuttings. Is this true?

2) Will there be any adverse affects, besides added time, to the original females I take the clones from by switching light so much? I have heard BB is a unstable strain.

3) Is aeroponic cloning the way to go. Have had NO success w/ soil and powder root toner. Any inexpensive, effective ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Progressing nicely there man.

Been 4 years since I last had a grow on - are the females the ones with tendrils growing out? :stoned:

i am on my first grow, so i am not an expert. I took some cuttings from my girls when they started to show, this was a few weeks ago. One of them had a nice root growing out the other day, and the other is still looking good, just no roots showing yet (these are in humidity dome). I took a few more from other plants that were behind in the flowering process, i put those in an bubble cloner in rapid rooters. I like the bubble cloner alot better, they have not wilted a bit in 24 hours and they dont have a dome on either. I bought all the supplies at walmart for less than 30 bucks total. good luck and nice plants you have there.

slayer34ny
05-17-2008, 07:32 PM
The first three pics are of females Halcyon420. Those are lil white pestils you see. The other pics are males, but they really dont show anything recognizable yet. But they look like lil balls, some tend too "hang" out a bit than others....some cluster at nodes.

I snapped a pic of one of the males. I havent killed em' yet. I am considering letting them mature, and collecting some pollen.

Another question.

I am planning on bagging it and cutting it once the male matures, and shaking it to release the pollen. I was then going to carefully scrape any pollen from the bag. Then I was going to store it in small glass jar (possablly in fridge or freezer???) till my females are 3-4 weeks into flowering, then I will paint brush some pollen on bottom flowers. ANY BETTER IDEAS????

wait for the balls to mature then put paper underneath them when they pop collect it up in a plastic baggie and put in the freezer will last 6-12 months.

OK....first, thanks to all for the help and suggestions. I went to my local Grow Store and bought a few items and got some much needed re-assurance...lol. Got an 80 unit tray and basin($8). A dome ($5). Some plugs of grow medium (looks like peat, forgot to ask) ($12) and some cloning gel ($13). I was told if I screw this up I would be the only person yet NOT to succeed with this method. We will see :) I am going to start tonight or tommarow and will post some finished pics of my work.

Here are a few pics of what I got. (The Tiger Bloom for later :) ) and a pic of the ladies I am going to clone, before I shred em'.

I took all of my cutting from the bottom 2-3 shoots of all the plants (2BB, 1BD). I got about 70 cuttings. I used every plug in the bag, and the tray is quite full. I took sections of about 2 leaf sets, cut at a 45 deg angle w/ a sharp blade. Removed the bottom set of leaves and dipped them into the clone gel. After that I inserted the about 3/4 of the way into the plugs. I now have the tray under the dome and under my 400w lamp with the original mothers.

Posting some finished pics of the cuttings, and the moms after the work was done. Ill post and keep thread updated with there progress.

that 400 is to much light for them. Everyone else suggests using a small cfl because they dont need much light while rooting.

05-19-2008, 03:07 AM
Thanks for advice. The manufacturer says no prob on HPS. Plus I have 3 other females in there. I only have 1 closet to work with, so I will see how it goes.

slayer34ny
05-22-2008, 10:28 PM
Well they are all rooted and are showing nice bright green new growth. Dosed em' w/ some grow big (1/2 tsp) in thier fresh water. It has been about 5 days, and the cover is still on. I am going to remove it tomarrow and prepair for transplanting. I plan on using some pro-mix/perlite in some 16oz solo cups. I will fill them, dig out a lil' valley in middle and set the clones about 1/2 way into soil. Trans to be done Saturday.

Since this worked so well I am planning on taking another 70 cuttings on sunday ;) So the next time you see my girls the may look a lil' butchered.

A few pics of the clones and a pic of the girls before I take more cuttings.

P.S. - I got my new MH bulb. A better quality HTG said. Its an Agro-Max. They sent both the HPS and the MH because they felt bad about all the blown bulbs........So I have the MH in now and the light cycle it 18/6, till all the clones are out the door and off to be w/ mother nature ;)

slayer34ny
05-27-2008, 03:09 PM
Well it turns out it takes alot longer to completely root these clones. It has been a week and still no roots showing OUT of the rapid rooters. They are rooted, I have checked, but just not as much as I had wanted or expected. I removed about 30 of em' and did what I planned above (transplant). I left the other 40 or so in the tray and gave them to a friend who has more room and can put them under their own light or outside. I am sure if I had a independant clone area it would be for the best, so i am not taking any more cuttings. I want bud, and I am taking them to 12/12 on tuesday (today). I fed them the last of the Grow Big and added some Open Sesame (1 tspn/G) to start early stacking. I will start the Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Beastie Bloomz schedule next week.

A few pics of the food, and the mommies are coming soon. Waiting for the lights to come on ;)

First, thanks Mr. Shovelhandle. I am trying to make it as helpful as possible. I know there is a lot of info I am leaving out, but i am trying my best ;)

Second, here are a few pics. The first 2 are my mommies. 2 Blueberry's and 1 Belladonna (from left to right). I took no more cuttings, but these plants had about 75 clones taken from them ALREADY! The third pic is of the pots I trans from ......to. They are 4 gallons. The old ones were 2 gallons. The fourth is of all the nutes I am using and a schedule I am sticking too. The last pic is of my other lil' monster, Midnight. After a few strong bong hits!!!!! LOL. He loves the smoke, he acctually whines for it. My other cat only eats the stuff, hates the smoke. Funny thing is his name is Smoker ;) I found them in a box on the side of the road about 10 years ago (only 2 left alive, other 6 were dead;() and they have been with me ever since. They kill everything in sight, they are quite wild. Rabbits, mice, moles, rats, squirrels, skunks and yes even a grown raccoon and a mallard duck.

P.S. - My noobishness has reared its ugly head again. I thought I messed up the clones...turns out they are very well rooted and are quite ahead of schedule. These are generational gorillia growers and said they were the best crop of clones yet this season. They laughed at me because I had given up only a week in....lol. I am still not taking any more cuttings, I want my mommies in flowering NOW!!!!! ;)

OK, so It is the end of the first week of flowering. I had noticed a lil' odd development on the Belladonna, but figured it would grow out of it. But alas it hasent stopped. The other 2 Blueberry's are fine. In fact i am quite happy with them. I have had to clip the tops of 2 of them (1 BB-1BD).

I had to raise the light and add a fan to the grow room. I figure it is heat stress. I am getting a reading of 78 in there. Hope it drops with the new fan. I got the window netting down as it is the only way to get more air to the plants. And with the door open I fear my ladies will suffer a lil' cat damage ;)

I also went for a flushing today and prob next watering. Maybe the new OF is too much for BD w/ the nute supply???

The pics are in this order........1st a BB...then another BB....then my BD. The 4th is the top of BD and the 5th is the middle section of BD. The bottom, or "older leaves" appear fine. The switch from MH to HPS mess it up??? Temp??? Natural occurance??? Opinions appreciated.

Here are a few pics of 1 of my BB. All three are looking good, and the claw has subsided a lil. I am not sure if it was a overwatering issue or a nute issue, but it is improving. I am at week 2 of flowering. New pics coming every few days. Wish I could get it colder in ther cause I am sure from my researching that it is what helps it turn purple/blue. I am reading about 78 in there

06-16-2008, 04:57 PM
Well the Belladonna is looking sooooo fine. Not that the Blueberry looks bad, but the BD flowers look very tasty. I will be posting pics later tonight of all 3 ladies. The 70 clones i cut are all doing quite well outside. About a foot tall and transplanted into a nice soil bed. They were rootbound in the solo cups, and ready to begin thier fight for survival. Damn deer everywhere, grubs and bugs. And of course the occasional scammer (hate these guys the most)

P.S. - I also ordered some Hashberry seeds and some PPP, should be ariving soon. Will prob try them next;)

slayer34ny
06-16-2008, 10:12 PM
Here are the pics I promised. The first two are of the Blueberry. The next two are of the Belladonna ;). The last pic is a group photo. They have all been topped, about 3 weeks into veg. And are not showing much stretching or growth now. Think they have reached their max height. I am measuring about 40" which is fine for me because I dont have more than 3-6" left to raise the light.

slayer34ny
06-23-2008, 10:48 PM
Took a few snaps of one of my BB ladies. I find this strain to be the bushiest one I have grown. I have "high" hopes for this crop. The Belladonna seems to be very sensitive to heat. The heat stress shown on her was odd. It is not that hot in there, surely not over 78 at any time. I have repositioned the plants and fans, thus putting her in the coolest spot of the grow area. She has shown noticable improvement for the 2 days it has been. I was seeing blotches on her I am attributing to the heat stress. If it is Mag or Cal deficiancy there is little i can do. Both blueberry's are doing just fine on the same water/food supply. In an attempt to rule out a few things I will give the BD straight water a few times. The BB are on to the Cha Ching (w/ TB and BB) now for 3 more weeks then I am going to stop feeding and wait;)

These pics are of the nicest BB plant. One of the whole plant. One of the top (got 4 C's from clip). One of the amazing shoot stack/growth. And the last is a top view

Dude I'm sorry that more people havent responded to your log. Nice grow, like the strains you chose. Your cat, Smoker, also looks like a Korat like my cat Stolichnaya (funny story, the place we adopted her from said they thought she was a Russian Blue so we gave her a russian name... found out a year later she was a korat which is actually a Thai breed... lol)

Hope your harvest turns out well

Thanks Dr.Spoof and Shovelhandle.....glad to see someone is taking an intrest. Yeah, Smoker is a cool cat...he had dark gray stripes as a kitten which faded over time. These poor cat's have been thru alot. When I lived in PHX they used to crawl in the cupboards and it turns out there was boric acid in thier to prevent roaches. Both cats got it in there right ear, got it aggrivated and ended up w/ bad hemotommas from it. Midnight was done professionaly when I came back to NY. But poor smoker had it lanced and drainded by yours truly. One of the hardest things I ever had to do. I have never met tougher, wilder and more loving cats. I am not a cat guy, I love all animals, but I couldent be happier that I stopped to look in that box.

As for my beautiful ladies, I will be updating this thread as often as possable, so I hope to do a decent job ;)

First, thanks Shovelhandle, I realize this, I am just a lil bored I guess ;) So I see you live in Vermont. I am thinking of moving there. I have undiagnosed health probs.....bad stomach and migranes, and a consistantlly high white cell count. As most surley know the only thing that helps me eat, and ease my pain is buds. So I may be your neiboor soon;). I go up rt 7 alot on the way to see Dad in NH, so maybe you can give me some info if I need any.

As for the delivery.......got my new strains. I am posting a few pics so ppl can see how they arrive. I ordered from weed-seeds.net. This is about my 10th order I have recieved. (#3 from WS) They are located in the UK. Some have been in Canada and others from Netherlands. All but 1 order has come this way. Packed in a CD case. The only other different way I got some was in a wedding card (dutch). WS acctually sent more Mango's to replace the bad ones I got. As well as sending 10 free Sweet Bud seeds. I also got 10 Hashberry seeds too.

So you all know. Anything coming overseas will not just be delivered anymore. I had to sign thru registered mail at PO to get them. This is the first time this has happened. I am sure most of the peeps will worry a lil about this. But I am sure you will be OK. It is sent as a CD (says Planet Wax on my CC statement) and as far as they know that is all it is ;)

I will try my best to give to the point info ;) It is week 5 of flower.

First 2 pics are of BB#2, next 2 are of BD. and a pic of the leaf prob I am having.

Here's the deal. The best looking (healthiest ) plant is BB # 1 (pics 2 posts above) and it has very little trics and the buds are noticably thinner and not as smelly. The other BB (#2) is the one that got the claw real bad, but the buds are very dense and smelly, with heavy crystals. The third, the BD has had a sickly look to her the last few weeks. Mainly on the larger leaves, top to bottom. Orange and yellow w/ brown/black spots. Very dry and crispy. But just like BB #2, it has great density (had to tie up bottom shoots to main stalk - toooo heavy), smelly and loaded w/ crystals.

I have a feeling it has something to do w/ my tap water, but I really dont want to be buying jugs of water all the time ;) I know plants drop leaves naturally late in flower, which is happening. I have eased back all nutes a lil, and did my best to relieve any heat stress. Salt build-up??? IDK I am just shooting in the dark....lol. Any help apprieciated. And pardon my lack of spelling and grammer;)

Well......as they got sicker I decided to try to flush them. Been thru 2 straight spring waterings (7.0pH)and now I am looking at a mess. I am thinking I was lowering the pH too much for a while. All the symtoms said low pH.

I am going to make this short. If they do not improve I am going to let all the leaves just fall off. About half of them have fallen off in the last week. If I do see any re-greening, then I will put some nutes in there. As it looks now they are goners and I dont want any extra food it there.

Well all 3 ladies are doing OK despite my error(s). I at least have some nice tight buds w/ what I call a "fruity pebbles" smell too them. I have even had noticable growth since the flushing. I have 2 weeks left. If I take em that far.

New pics coming tommarow

I am not mad, but it could have turned out better. My ladies are nearing their end. I am at week 7 of flower now and am planning to start plain water after tonights feeding. On Sun/Mon I will probablly be trimming them and hanging them. I got some cloudy trics now but a few are turning. I must say, the buds are very full. You cant squeeze em'. I so cant wait to smoke these ladies.

First 2 pics are BD. Next 2 are BB#2 and the last 1 is BB #1.

See you soon fro some post trim pics, before I cut em.

Well after a long drunk weekend I returned home to a almost dry BD. I am quite surprised at just how dry it is. I will be cutting off/manicuring those buds tonight. (Pics to come later) I am also planning on taking down BB#2. She is ready. (Pics of that later too).

Now back to bed to recover from this nasty hangover. Was playing a buddy in Wii bowling...shot a game. I kinda dont remember the last few...LOL

So the BD dried very nicely in only a few days. I cut all the stalk off and put all of the bud on screens for the night. Soon I will put em' in some glass jars to cure. I got about 3 oz of nice sticky bud at the moment ;) I dont expect to loose more than 10 grams or so from here, so I am more than happy.

I tried to take a few pics but alas my camera is not the best. Wish you could see em' in person. These pics do not do them any justice.

I am hoping to trim the BB#2 tonight. But if I dont get to it tonight, tomarrow for sure

Nice thread, nice plants and nice cat (have 2 myself Pepsi and Sprite :D )

Come back with a smoke report of your yield m8, always nice to hear how it ends up in the head after all that work. :)

slayer34ny, dude, I sincerely apologize for lurking within your thread without a reply. I seriously thought I had posted within your thread before - I know I've started posts in her before, but must have gotten too bombed to continue? I don't know, but I remember seeing that seed order before.

Anyway, I am glad to see your BD looking so fine! I'm also looking forward to the BB #2 cutting, and as with everyone, I'm looking forward to a smoke report. I'm glad to see another Wii player on the board. Bowling is 1 of my favorites too, except that both my kids can wear me out at it - my young daughter holds the high score. My current obsession is Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I always wanted to know how to play the guitar, and now I really don't need to know as I can rock out on the Wii!

Sorry again for lurking so dang long without so much as a single reply. It is truly an oversight on my part, and without a doubt no comment on your grow, as your grow ABSOLUTELY ROCKS! Be good out there, bro!

Best I can do. Got like 3 jars full. It aint cured yet so I cant really tell ya the exact effects, but I have sampled a lil bit. Tasty and a SLIGHT trippy feel. Loads of cottonmouth. I find it perfect for bonging. Cant wait till next week ;)

Well here is some more pics. The BB#2 was quite bushy, and it took a long ass time to trim it. Feels a lil heavier than the BD and a lil wetter. I will post some more pics of finished product once its dry. BB#1 will come down this weekend. (week 9)

Thanks for all the support guys. I have a dry weight of 74 grams of the Belladonna. As for a smoke report, that is NO problem....lol. So far I am sooooo happy w/ the BD. Smells and tastes like candy. Pulled a lilk outta the jar this morning....after about 5-6 bonghits......I am floating. WOW. I know it aint even cured yet but very good smoke so far. But the cottonmouth is brutal. Almost an instant high. Can feel my spirit lifting as the smoke pours in my lungs ;)

Again thanks for all the support. I am starting a new log tonight. Hashberry/Mango grow. All the seeds have split w/ white tails, except 2 mango's. I seem to really have a prob germinating these mango's. So far I am not impressed. New log coming soon, as well as more updates for this log. SOG...SOG....SOG. My next grow will be my first attempt ;)

I know these pics suck, but i figured I would post em anyway. I have cut my buds of the stalk. Now they are drying on a screen for a few days. When they are done, I will post weight and smoke quality. Looks like the nicest nugs of the whole batch.

Having taken down the last of my girls, this grow is now complete. I have posted a few more pics of BB#1 before and after trimming. A friend came over to help me trim her, and brought his camera. He took alot of pics. Of the latest BB and of the dried and cured buds. I will be posting them all at the end of this log when I get them. They look alot better than mine ;)

BB#2 yielded me about 3 1/2 oz of wonderfully potent nugs. So tasty, and the high is very happy. You truely only need one strong bonghit to catch a nice head high. Do a few more and I get that full body floaty kinda feel. No couchlock. Hard to stop smoking ;)

Lil update. My computer blew up so I may have lost the digital pics I promised;( . The good news is the smoke is fabulous. Everyone loves it. If I could only smoke a bong or two in a sitting all would be fine. because it truelly rips ya after one or two. The taste is so wonderful I just cant stop. LOL.

I have about 60 of both plants outside doing just wonderful as well. I will be posting pics bn this log when the outdoor crop is done.
