In the last few weeks, everytime I partake (of brownies of course), my nose gets stuffed up and I feel like I have a cold for 3 days. I get over it, then have a brownie and boom, happens all over again.
Does this happen to anyone else? Or does anyone have other "side effects" (besides gettin hi)?
Cheers,
BM

I have an unlimited supply of weed and an unlimited supply of brownies and haven't had a cold since 2004.
...and I haven't mixed brownies and weed since 1969. I don't know if that's related or not....:stoned:

well if that happens to you, then maybe you should stop eating it and start smoking it.

Sounds like you may be allergic to cannabis bro! I hope not. That would totally suck. What happens when you smoke weed? (or do you?) Also, what else do you do when your high? Like, do you get an incredible urge to run around in the sprinklers naked, in 40 degree weather, every time you get baked on some brownies? That could explain it. ;) Seriously though... do you like stay up late every time you bake or something... ? Maybe it is something related, but not directly related...

Sometimes, the next day after toking I'll have a really sore throat or a stuffy nose and almost always after toking I start losing my voice...

I stay up really late a lot of the time when I bake... but I always sleep in to make up for it.. Could that still make me sick? What does staying up late have to do with getting sick??

If I stay up really late one night, the next day I'll often have some sniffles. Even if you sleep in, it can still screw with your internal clock. Your body is timed to sleep when it is dark. If you screw that up, your body doesn't rest properly, and it may not fight whatever bugs you came into contact with the day before. Of course not everyone is like this... but I am.
And I don't know if it is the strain I smoke or what, but I cannot sleep for a while after I bake... so I try to do it as early in the day as possible so I can rest well that night.
You may want to think about an allergy test too. I've never had one, and I doubt they test for cannabis (hehe), but it might give you some idea of if that could be the culprit. I've never heard of someone being allergic to weed though.

I know a guy who started getting itchy skin break-outs after smoking weed. This only started happening to him when he got older, so he had to quit.
As far as the brownies, it's possible that there is an ingredient that you're allergic to. You can't get an actual "cold" from weed, or anything other than the germ itself.
Because I have Celiac, and other food intolerances, I eat non-marijuana special-diet brownies that are gluten, dairy and soy free. Got about six boxes of them in the freezer.

I get a cold if I eat a lot of sugar. I have to limit myself to one sugary item per day to stay fine.

If your immune system is compromised, which certain foods can do to most people, then it's easier to catch a cold. I hardly ever get sick, and I'm sure that a big part of the reason is because I don't eat things that I have a problem with.

Appreciate all the posts.
I usually stay up really late when baked. So, yeah that's probably it. Hakim's Razor right? Could be allergies, pollen's bad here right now. Maybe I should see if I can get an allergy test for weed. That's pretty funny.
BTW, I've never been able to get high from smokin weed. Believe me, I've puffed, held it for a looong time, stood on my head, bongs, bowls etc, went to Amsterdam and tried it. Nothin but a bad headache. Tried a big-ass brownie at a party thinking it wasn't going to work and bam! 1.5 hours later I was talking to my imaginary little friends and then fell asleep (or passed out not sure). It was a big brownie though. Also, that was the first time I saw "Dark Side of Oz" (before it was prepackaged). Rocked.

Technically, your body is tuned to an endogenous circadian rhythm of roughly 24 hours. The external cues of light and dark help modulate that rhythm.
About 1 in 10,000 people typically have some sort of adverse reaction to cannabis, and your inability to absorb cannabis smoke/vapor through your lungs might indicate some sort of adversity to it. The other issues could be a natural result.

I've noticed that my nose gets pretty stuffed up after smoking, and I've always wondered why. I always thought maybe it had to do with smoke going either in or out of my nose, but I really have no clue why it happens.

Just last night after ripping from a water bong my nose start to get stuffy. But that just might be because I was outside and the weather wasn't the best.

weed gets me high, not sick, ill, or nautious or in a state of pain, it's the complete opposite of these feelings.

Different strains of weed have completely different effects on me, all of them good I can assure

I can't say it's ever gave me a cold. I only feel crap if on the very rare occasion i end up smoking waaaaaaay too much in one session. Then i get the cold sweat, cotton mouth, shakes, and the urge to vomit. But for 99.9% of the time, weed makes me feel a whole lot better, not worse.:)
