sorry... but where are you going with this? would it be less of a ripoff if it was 800 years? 8000? is anything short of immortality a ripoff in your mind?
would living forever be fun? if we are finite beings (unless you are a god and are infinite) then we have finite possibilities of experiences that we can have... if we live for an infinite amount of time then eventually we would experience every possibility possible and could then only begin to repeat the same experiences over... once you relive everything there is still an infinite amount of time left and so all one could do is keep reliving the same things over and over... sounds boring to me.
maybe i am missing your point though...

There is a reverse side to everything. Make the greatest with what you are given and you will reap the rewards. Just remember decay and renewal come from the light. I guess you could say: "make the greatest with your light"?

Well... if he also kept smoking through his long life, surely he wouldnt remember a tenth of everything he did, so reliving things wouldnt be a problem...:rastasmoke:

dont feel too bad. Im sure people since civilization began expressed the same feeling. we all get to experience life this one time, but like any other living creature that has lived and died we will too. Just think in a few generations from now when we are dead and gone, people will still be saying they feel bad they have to die in _ amount of time. We like others past will be nothing more than rotted corpses. Our consciencness will be the same as it was b4 we were born, which is complete oblivion. No sleep, no dreams, NO HEAVEN/HELL, no functioning brain to experience sleep. Just gone. Nothing left for us to experience. Sorry but thats plain facts. Just do something positive with your life, and make your one stay here a positive one. Its best not to think about death.

though i highly respect your perspective android... i have to disagree that it is "plain fact." it is beyond our scope of observation so it is "plain mystery" to us still. i am not saying i even disagree with you, but we are still quite far from understanding our existence and i believe it is too early to say "we know for sure about this one!"

Just remember that androids has no soul, so for them death may actually be the end, plain and simple.
Is for us humans that the things are a bit more complicated... :D
PS. Android17ak17 i meant no offense... i just couldnt resist...

we androids live forevor hahaha. But ya, death for us would be like shutting a light off. If its out, its out. If its on, its on.

let's go out on a limb and assume that reality is infinite.
then let's go out on the limb that "we" are not our bodies, but the force that drives them.
finally, we go ahead and say that the driving forces of our bodies is infinite...
DEATH IS JUST ANOTHER EXPERIENCE IN THE INFINITE SPAN OF EXPERIENCES!

a light is not but a light, but the energies that flow through the wires into the bulb.
the electricity does not cease, the connection TO the energy does.
are we the energy, or a mere connection to it?
EVEN IF we are just the connection, connections do not disappear, they are salvaged, recycled, used again for something else, something new.
(sorry for double post, got ahead of myself there)

Atheist : Life is amazing, we get a whole 80 years!
Religious: Life is great, but wait till your first 80 years, you get ENDLESS years in constant pain or constant joy depending on whether you believe it happens or not!

I would argue there is a link between the religiosity of at the very least, the United States, and the laws which criminalize substances like cannabis.
