So i've been growing my clones and since this is my firt set (2 different strains....3 WW and one Dutch Dragon) Mr Hound remarked the other day that he thought the clones grew a bit slower than seedlings of the same comparative size. Based on my VERY limited growing experience with clones I wanted to know if anyone has found this to be true/not true/sometimes true???

if it helps...now that you mention it my seedlings had a much healthier veg time than the clones do overall. better node spacing and healthier leaf development in the seedlings. I find the clones have a "struggle" as they are establishing their root system around week 3 from clip. perhaps this is where the seedling "wins" and gains that extra growth. *hypothosis*.

i was thinking the same thing. the added stress from trying to root puts a damper on the whole plant system, everything comes to a halt except for trying to root.

i have also seen a seed plant more vigorous than its clones.

clones can be better if it's cut from the right plant. Take a clone of all your plants before you flower and them and give them all different names or number so you know what plant the clone came from. Wait for harvest. Use the clone from the best plant as a mother plant. It and it's seedlings should all look the same and give the same good yeald

The theory is that clones will grow better and faster, since you are suppose to pick the best plant to make a mom, and a clone is actually part of a healthy plant (hopefully). I've not noticed that my seed plants grow any better or faster than my clone plants. Are you comparing seeds and clones of the same variety?
