Problem - This plant has been growing extremely slowly. Picture is day 7. I originally had lights 2" from plant and almost died. Moved lights to 5-6" away and seems better but leaves have still not dropped. I checked temp this morning and it was 100 deg! I opened the box and put a fan behind the plant blowing air out to reduce. I have a 4 inch 68cfm fan on the way so hopefully that will help venting.

Question - How far should I keep these CFLs (1-125 w, 2-42w) from the plants. The 125w is 9800 lumens and I think might be too much to be too close to the plant.

- Soil
Bought from a local nursery.

-Water source
Distilled water.

-Water pH
balanced to 6.8-7.0

-Age of plant
1 week

-Type of fertilizer
none used yet

-Lighting source and distance from plant
1 125w CFL and 2-42w CFL's - Total 209w of CFL. All are 6500k

-Temperature (both day and night if you are running a dark period)
Day 85-90. Don't know why it stays that high with cfls.

-% Relative humidity
35-40%

-Lighting schedule
20 light / 4 dark

-Type of ventilation your room has
Right now door is open to room. Fan in back blowing air out to room. Have a 4 inch 68cfm fan on the way which I will put in the top of the box sucking air out.

-Where are your plants getting their Calcium?

First, ditch the distilled water--no minerals in it. Second, the heat may be killing your plant or possibly it's over watered but 100 degrees is definately a problem. Otherwise you seem to be on the right path.
