I was wondering if you could use a bong without a slider, because I'm interested in buying this one bong off a website, but it doesn't include a slider, and the sliders on the site cost nearly as much as the bong :wtf: So is it okay to just put a screen in the downpipe cone and put your weed in there?
Thanks ahead of time :rastasmoke:

Yeah, I guess, but that's a shitty idea, as the surface area would be a bitch and a half to keep covered with enough weed to make a solid vacuum.

I did it once when i had my bong and i broke the cheap thin slider then i just bought a tougher inside out one. It bugs you though (if the bong dont have a carb) because its hard to clear but what i did is put a metal screen in the down pipe then I packed only a small hit at a time so i could just keep hiting it after its cashed to clear it ;)

if you're motivated enough you can drill your own carb.

That would be the first thing i would do. Im suprised they make bongs wit no way to clear them:wtf:

i think he meant the bong wasnt complete when he bought it so you have to buy the slider seperate

but then again why not just up the price and throw in a slider?

which website was it?

store links aren't allowed...

What I implied was that the bong already had a fixed downstem (usually of the metal variety) and they would have a carb on them. If not, you need to drill one. I prefer sliders but I have a handful of carb/fixed downstem bongs that I still use.

And no, it's not worth it to replace a metal downstem with a glass slider if the bong has a carb. It's expensive, and you risk breaking the acrylic (I assume, glass usually don't have metal downstems) when you inevitably have to bore out the hole a little to get the glass downstem in there.

What IS worth it is if you have a bong with a glass downstem, replace it with a diffuser downstem, they are teh win. Small bubbles = more surface area to interact with the water = less soot in your lungs.
