Weed and being sick

Hey all ! this would be my first post... been reading these forums pretty heavy for about a month now just sorta stumbled accross them. Anyways im a chronic.... no brainer huh? Anyhow just somthing that sorta came to my mind and iv been pondering it as i sit here. Was wondering on what the take on the forum about it would be. Unfortunatly im feeling really sick got a nasty cold with the whole sick to my stomach thing... head ach... sore throat the works that we all know and love.... Im sitting here... and not feeling good but my question is this. Do you toke when you are sick? i have never done it before and im wondering if there would be any benfits to it make me feel better while it passes. Or if there are any downfalls of smoking when ill. Soo just curious any input and disscussion would be much apreciated. To toke or not to toke ! that is the question and the awsner is in your hands ;)

Yes, I find weed helps a lot when I'm sick. It has been shown in medical studies to combat nausea, and my own experience finds this to be true as well.

It depends. If you had, say a cold, your cold would last longer because, THC slows the production of cells (I can't remember which ones), for example, it slows certain enzymes in your liver from being created. But this only applies to when you are under the influence.

probably T-cells. The cells that fight off bacteria and stuff. Anyhow, I like to smoke while i'm sick. It takes my mind off being sick, and lets me relax. If I have a cough, i'll smoke a bowl or two, and the coughing subsides for alittle while. Of course, when you have a cough, smoking isn't going to help cure it. That's the cost of smoking while sick. It slows your recovery.

i beg to differ...i don't take any of "mans medicine" as in the last shots i had were when i was 4 and when i get sick IF I get sick i don't take medicine for it....and i smoke alot of weed....i'm hardly ever sick...less so then people around me that don't smoke weed....

It helps nausea and is known to be a great stress reliever, but it's hard to do so when you've got a sore throat or a cough since it seems to just aggravate it with severe versions.

I apreciate the replys my hippy brethren guess im on the fence about toking when sick :p But in the light of events (my freinds dad dying the other day) and a few other pleasent events i reckon toking would be excellent right now lol

I've been sick for the past week. This was my method of action.

I made brownies out of an ounce+ of shwagg... 1-2 pieces kept me high and comfortable all day. I didn't notice my terrible headache or throat ache.

I drank green tea when I woke up every morning, drank lots of water during the day, and had a cup of white tea after dinner.

I kept taking my prescribed anti-biotics...and now I feel 100% again.

it takes you a week to get better? the longest i can remember being sick is 3 days....and that was the chicken pox..not a whoel lot i could do about that

I don't take painkillers or man's medicine either. All these new pills to control erections, depression, headaches....its all bullshit. You are not supposed to control when you get an erection or not. It's nature's decision. And if you stop having erections, your time with having sex is over. Don't make yourself get more erections when you don't get them naturally anymore.

The only time i ever take some kind of pill to control someting is when i get really bad poison ivy. I have to take steroids. And that's just to lower the itching for alittle while.

i think smoking while sic is good. i agree that nuasea goes away when ur high...so do headaches and just about everything else....i only feel tired when i come down if im sick...i dont feel worse maybe u guys have sum bad cronic if thats happening

yeah smoking while your sick helps releive the shitty feeling for a while, but i always have to watch my hits, cuz if i take too big of one, bye bye to the throat, i cough my fucking ass off and my throat is fucked up the rest of the day, but that wont stop me from smoking, haha, and also yeah weed weakens your immune system, even if your sick or not, so your more likely to get sick the more you smoke weed, thats in the winter. but anyone hate being high and having to walk in the damn mid summer sun? fuck 95 degrees while high, it sucks ass.
