When is the first sign of flowering?

My Fox Farms flowering ferts, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom say to start feeding at the first signs of flowering. How can I recognize the first signs? Should it just be as soon as I see the female pistils?

as soon as you switch the hrs of darkness and daylight to around 12/12

im not an experienced grower im on like my 2nd grow but i think you control when it flowers you can keep it in its vegative stage by keeping the hours of light each day at 18 hours.. then when you want it to start flowering switch the light to 12 hours a day
