Hey dudes, how can i keep one single sativa (thinking in my second grow) not tall, will work flowering the first couple of weeks with MH??? or hps plus mh? (thinking in stretch reduction of the MH), OR just cut the top cola off the plant. and never let the plant get height cutting and cutting again and again.. the point is, i want a sativa bushy. could it be?:stoned:

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. Someone gave me 2 Bob Marley seeds which are sativa and all I currently have are T5's. I know it would be near impossible to keep it short enough for my lighting to be effective. On a good note, I was cleaning some Hashberry from my latest harvest and found a seed. I was surprised and happy.

You can keep it low if you LST the plant(tie it down)...to cut of things from a plant is not a good idea...
I think in the FAQ section you can find everything you need, or in some grow logs there are pix too how it's done...good luck...

I was told that using MH early in flower helps slow the stretch, but have never tried.
Turk: How about standing the T5 on end, and adding some supplimental cfl's overhead?

lst, using the mh, and topping are all pretty good ideass. havey you heard of humboldt bushmaster? its supposed to be used to halt growth and speed up the transition to flowering. i havent personally tried out that one yet though so i cant say for sure how well it works or if it works at all. check it out though ive heard good things about it.

I'd either LST the plant (but thatwill take more space) or bonsai it. Are we talking about a MOM here? If it's a plant you want to flower and harvest, definately go with LST or bend branches of it throughout your canopy.

Ive been told the higher you have the light the more they grow because there trying to grow towards and to reach the light so try moving the light abit closer i dont really know to be honest and topping should also help.

just bend it over, and tie it down ,,, simple

Bend over, tie down, get the light real close to prevent stretch, and make sure you're using blue enough light. Intense blue light such as from a MH= less stretch compared to the red light of a HPS. Of course, you still need that range in flower but with a big sat, every little thing you can to to control height helps! Also, keep your temps from fluctuating between night and day if you can. It's not critical, but is also a factor that can help reduce stretch.
