I've seen a few different posts supporting this bill over the last few days. I signed the petition and had it sent off to my local representatives the day I read it. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

So, uh... did!

Not sure why I have to enter a zip+4. I live on a main street thats a highway (small one), won't accept my address though. I'll see what I can come up with as I DO want to let my congressman know where I stand on this!

Also, make sure you back the other bill put forth by Ron Paul which will stop the Federal government from prosecuting folks who have received prescriptions for medical marijuana at the state level.

Found a zip+4 code I could use and the system took it. So.....done!

You know though, wish it weren't an election year....I'm inclined to think it will be harder to push through. Still, this is definitely a step in the right direction...

"...Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use."

Just got done sending a link to everyone I know and sent my letter through Norml. I added how much I would rather spend tax dollars on fighting Meth in elementary schools then on MJ wars.

Don't just get it done, tell everyone you know to support the bill too!

Does anyone know when this goes to vote. I've been tuning into CSPAN a lot this week in hopes to catch the debate on the floor of the house. So far I haven't heard anything though....

^ thats a good question, i'd like to tune in, too. here is a link to the summary on Thomas. looks like they are all in committee with plans to roll out this summer, but when ??? i have yet to find out when the session ends. surely someone will tivo it and post a link if i miss the debate.

looks like these two bill and possibly one amendment from Congressman Hinchey of NY to stop funding for the dea, probably attached to an appropriations bill, to vote on this summer. i think its interesting if you look at the last time congress voted on similar bill a bunch of the Noes went down in flames in the next election, likely because of their war vote, but still one less prohib.

I sent the letter, told all my friends, family, posted a myspace bulletin, and posted on every single facebook wall I could find.

Spread the word, tell them to spread the word, and tell them to tell them to spread the word.
