Metallica: Fade to Black

Me and a real good childhood friend of mine used to say this all the time. When we die, we either want to be listening to this song at the moment of death, or we want it to be played at our funeral. Or both. My good buddy died less than a year ago right before his 26th birthday. He screwed around with methadone, never messing with opiates before in his life, and it restricted his breathing long enough to stop his heart while he slept. Anyway, this song headed up the list of tracks put on a memorial CD by his family.

It'll be played at my funeral, as well.

Pink Floyd - Confortably Numb

I knew the moment I saw the title I would listen to comfortably numb aswell

Otherwise it would be In Da Gadda Da Vida by iron butterfly, then Id have a good twenty minutes or so to tie up loose ends.

This is a hard question. I don't have a final answer. And I guess since there's no WRONG answer it might just be whatever I was in the mood for at that moment :)

You sir, are a survival genius. You can be minister of defense when I establish my benevolent banana dictatorship.

I think I'd go out listening to AFI's "Miseria Cantare (The Beginning)", or Theatre of Tragedy's "Disintegration" while hallucinating on something. Otherwise it's Motorhead's "Overkill", Tool's "10,000 Days", Rammstein's "Mein Hertz Brennt", or Dark Tranquillity's "The Mundane and the Magic".

Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)

There's really no song I can think of that fits more beautifully...

Home - is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home - she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time Before we were born
If someone asks, this is where I'll be . . . where I'll be.........

"Maybe in time you'll understand only God could save us
When my baby's cutting loose wit the band
Just think of all the people that you knew in the past
That passed on, lay in heaven, found peace at last

Picture a place that they exist, together
It has to be a place better then this, in heaven
So right before I sleep dear God what I'm asking:
Remember this face, save me a place
In thug mansion. "

idk, id like some pretty brutal sh*t like beneath the massacre or the faceless or something, after i heard it id get all pumped and be like f*ck it pull the plug.

im sure my family would appreciate that lol.

edit: how about some devildriver - die? lol

"Let's get it out
Let's get it straight
I wish you were dead

Don't mistake mercy for forgiveness
front and center for another life lesson
Don't forgive, damn sure don't forget
Damn sure, won't forget

I am the dog that forever bites back
Forever on attack watching my back

Die and die now
I wish you were dead
DIE
Curses from my life
Curses from my soul
This is the last great hate song
Damn sure won't forget ....DIE"

If I may borrow your logic :D

I choose this :

Organ/ASLSP (As SLow aS Possible) is a musical piece composed by John Cage and is the subject of the slowest and longest-lasting musical performance yet undertaken. It was originally written in 1987 for organ and is adapted from the earlier work ASLSP 1985; a typical performance of the piano piece lasts for about 20 minutes. The current organ performance of the piece began in 2001 and is scheduled to have a duration of 639 years, ending in 2640.
