ok, so i have no access to any mylar, can't order it online cuz i have no where to ship it to. so i was planning on trying to use one of those chrome thermal blankets from the camping section at wal mart. the only thing i wasn't sure about was it says on the package "95% heat reflectivity" (i guess they're designed to keep you warm) and as i'm doing a small dresser grow and summer's coming up, i wasn't sure if this would heat up the box even more or what. any thoughts?

Me and Bijnas use those. IMO they work great! And they are pretty damn strong, hard to rip! Go ahead and use it

paint it with flat-white paint, you'll be glad you did  ... Mylar is a pain in the ass to keep clean, and dulls after awhile, drastically losing reflectivity ... I bought very expensive brand-name Mylar (the best) ... less than two years later, my bluejeans would reflect more light :( ... even when new, it only is a couple % better than the flat-white, anyway ... Mylar ?, never again :(

Yeah, I use the same thing. They are made of mylar, just not the brand name of mylar. I haven't seen any noticeable heat increases in my box. If you're building a box for the long run that you'll use over and over then white paint might be more appropriate. But its more difficult and I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment so I know I couldn't deal with the paint fumes.
