Got my closet all setup, still waiting on my Vortex 6" fan. In an effort to keep sound down as the closet is in my room, i was thinking of putting the fan in the attic, along with the filter. Will the heat be a problem for the fan? i am sure it gets to 130 - 140 up there in the summer. Anyone who has a fan mounted in the attic please chime in on this one. thanks

No problem putting your fan in attic, it will work perfectly fine at attic temps.

Consider mounting the fan, suspended from bungee cords to keep vibrations and noise from traveling thru the structure.
Also consider use of speed controller, a fan running at 75% speed is much quieter then at full tilt.

good luck

thanks for the reply. I mounted it up there yesterday just as you said. I put an eyelet in the stud and mounted it using 2 bungee cords, as well as the filter. seems to be working great and not noisy at all. I also bought a speed control, but at full blast it is very quite, im sure the insulated ducting helps with that as well.
