yo.
i planted this sucker in a solo cup in the beginning of february. i i dont remember where i got the seed.. but im glad i kept it :D. ive tried to grow when i was in highschool, but i lived in a tight neighborhood so i couldnt keep them. i now have a huge backyard, and i put it in a 6x8 plastic pot. its about 20 inches tall, leaves have been multiplying pretty fast lately. its got purple on the stems, some leaf, and tips of hairs. i have no idead indica or sativa? its got a pretty sharp pine-like smell. how much should i expect to get out of it and when? and oh yea its on about its eleventh set of leaves and the bottom ones are just now browning.and what can i do to get this bitch to pump out some decent buds?

around 76-80 during the day and pretty low about 40-50. yeah i just use hose water.. yeah i know; theres shit in the tap that isnt really good for the plant. but a plant that size.. would it really make a difference to use bottled? and yeah i usually near-soak the soil and rewater when its almost dry.

oh yeah almost forgot... i have another plant thats IN THE GROUND... its a little bigger than the girl, and im 99% sure its a male. However.. theres a few hairs coming out of wher the clusters are... whats the deal?i keep the girl about 40 feet from him. and what im getting at is.. the male has a good smell. should i keep him and hope for good seeds or what? or should i kill and just keep the girl? can they cross pollinate that close to eachother? btw its getting really hot where i live... like 90 or so. should i change shade/light ratios? help:stoned:

That girl looks indica dominate to me. She's got some fairly fat leaves. I'm no expert though.

As far as the male, of course you'll only get seeds if you allow the female to be pollinated by the male. I would think there is a good chance of at least some pollination even at 40 feet apart. Mother nature is good at that sort of thing. It might not be much though... maybe just a few seeds. Again, I'm no expert.

The girl's buds will not be as strong if she is pollinated b/c more energy wiill go to seed creation then resin creation. The more seeds she makes, the less strong her buds will be. But if the plants are looking like they have good genetics, perhaps you will want to pollinate to get more seeds. Then you can try to grow a non-pollinated (sensimilla) plant next time, killing off the males since you already have seeds. You could also collect some male pollen in a bag and attempt to pollinate only a few of her buds so the others keep more of their resin.

Most marijuana plants, especially indicas, do not mind temps at 90 degrees. Just keep them watered when they need it (of course don't over water though).

is the plant in the picture still in the solo cup. looks like it needs to be transplanted to a bigger pot.

I think the leaves are more long and skinny, like sativa, but the plant is still short and more compact looking. Could be a hybrid.

From the pics, it looks like your plant might be blooming already. How many hours do you have the HPS on every day?

No, i put it in a bigger pot awhile ago. somewhat deep since roots grow nearly straight down. For some reason, the bottom leaves are really starting to yellow up.In my area, we get heatwaves occasionally, pushing almost 100 degrees this time of year. also, the hairs are getting little dark spots and the plant is kinda losing its smell :(

that plant is outside and flowering like that?
what hemisphere do you live in??
anyways the plant looks to be a hybrid to me, and there's not much more you can do to make it bigger but you want to make sure your using flowering nutes to get the most out of what you have.
either way if you dry and cure the bud properly you should still end up with some decent smoke
peace and happy growing!:rastasmoke:

I pruned alot of leaves, mainly the bigger ones. Maybe i cut too many, idk. I used a really good fert and its seeming to help a bit.. more leaves growing everywhere. Ill post some pics shortly.

When you say that you pruned off a bunch of leaves, mainly the bigger ones, I begin to think that you have been cutting away the fan leaves which you should never ever do. Through these leaves is how the plant grows so removing them is basically doing nothing more than slowing down the plants growth.

yeah i got rid of a lot, but its okay, this is a personal plant. most of what i clipped was either spotting or yellowing. plus im still learning new stuff everyday. i think it looks fine.:D

Just curious, how long did it take for your plants to germinate/break the surface of the soil?

germination took about 2 days

Hello again.. question.
This plant has been flowering for a while now. Can you tell me, by the look of all my pics in this thread, is it ready yet? My buddy said to just let it grow, and that they flower for a long time, but Id really like to know the real deal.. Its my first time keepin a plant, so Ive never really gotten to the "harvesting" part. Im thinkin its almost ready because of the goofy leaf patterns on the top. Anyone?

It doesn't look anywhere near ready to me from those pics.I read somewhere that a plant grown outside naturaly can take upto 12 weeks to show sex(from seed)So your probably looking at another 10 weeks on top of that to finish flowering.P.s,I think it looks a bit better after the trim you gave it,but go easy on the scissors.Hope it works out.RM
