well I have this thing that U stick in the soil and it tell how wet UR soil is. U can poke it around 9-10 inches into the soil.
later I'll get a pic of it.

yah I am not sure on the nutes schedule yet.

I think they get enought light when its sunny out. so I am hopeing for a very sunny summer.

and thanks for stoping by guys.

hey hey hydro!
Nice to see you doing an outdoor grow ;)

Your plants look nice and healthy. Which area of the world are you in and how much direct daylight are your plants getting?

hydrocannabis
04-11-2008, 12:10 AM
hey b0n3ZA thanks fo stopin by.

they get good sunlight for most of the day.
but not as much as UR plants R getting.

so how did U get UR plants to grow so bushy.
did U top them.

and me plants R in 20 gallon pots. and 1-2 times a day I mist them with clean water.

and new pix of em later maybe.

and if anyone knows of any good ferts I can use that would make them grow big healthy and strong.

later I'll try and get a pic of the ferts I already have on hand. and yall can tell me what one would be best for my plants.
thats if I even have one that is good.

thanks agen. over and out. hydro.

04-12-2008, 01:59 AM
no worries man.

Well, I did top mine a bit. Only once or twice though... It never became a regular thing. They just grew bushy... The thing is, I replanted my plants from pots into soil a month before the flowering season. During that month in solid ground, they just grew enourmous. if you want a big yield, consider it! pots are limiting after all. You might as well make the most of your outdoor grow and get a huuuuuge harvest ;D

anyone else wanna comment on my grow.

and what can I do about the smell when my plants R in flowering cycle?

04-13-2008, 03:10 PM
looking great so far man. Very healthy indeed. no problems.

I recommend a carbon filter, 120mm should be enough but some people prefer 140's and 200's.

I have 3 skunk plants and there is 0 smell leaving the room, considering we're in full bloom week 5 i'd recommend getting one, they are worth the money.

If your a MMJ grower it's a said, you don't want thugs breaking your door down for an oz of weed. :D

Peace,

plants really take off when you start feeding them.. consider investing in the foxfarm 3 pack.

As for the smell, only thing I can think of would be to plant other strong smelled flowers and stuff around it to mask the smell a bit. Not sure what else you can really do outside, maybe ONA gel but that shit will only last you a few weeks / block.

anyone else wanna comment on my grow.

and what can I do about the smell when my plants R in flowering cycle?

dont worry about the smell.. When my plants were growing outdoors, you could smell them ofcourse, but not from far away. Only from within about a few meter radius. I wouldn't worry about it.

Most people wouldn't recognise the smell of flowering cannabis compared to cannabis smoke, hehe.

I also had levander bushes growing side by side my plants. I'm sure that masked the smell as well.

looking good. I would love to do an outdoor grow but it would have to be guerilla. Somehow I think an Audi would look suspicious pulling up to some backwoods country area. Maybe some day when I get a beater truck.

I'll be following this one from beginning to end.

Regarding the smell:
Depending on your climate, there are several shurb/bushes that you could place strategically around your plants. This will not eliminate the odor, but will camouflage it. Personally, I like hydrangeas and the thrive in my climate.

Good luck with your grow, nothing like true sunshine and a plentiful bounty at Thanksgiving ;)

my backyeard is getting very smelly. its like if U walked out on my back porch U get a huge wiff of dank weed growing.

so I need to get some other strong smelling plants to plant back there so U can't smell the marry jane.

and I also planted a bunch of wildflower seeds right nere the grow spot. but they haven't grown at all yet.

well good day to all.

plants are looking nice. hope you get something sorted for the smell!

stinkyattic
05-02-2008, 06:55 PM
You gotta put only one plant in each pot. Also never have the soil line more than an inch below the rim of the pot for air circulation reasons. If the plants are near the electric meter, I'd worry mroe about hiding them from sight than the smell. Put them next to some other bushes with serrated or heavily textured leaves. Lupines and tomatoes work okay.

hydrocannabis
05-10-2008, 10:16 PM

Good luck with your grow. I've had too many beautiful plants ripped off at my hut to ever do it again. Electric fence, maybe? Also, I would replace the black plastic with white. Even outdoors light is reflected by white and absorbed by black.

Cede2Weed
05-14-2008, 01:41 AM
Have no idea. A best guess would take into consideration the amount of sunlight they are getting each day. If it is less than 12 hours and and indica plant I would say about 6 weeks. Placed next to your house it probably gets less than 12. Just a lame guess though.

hydrocannabis

holy cow my outdoor plants R looking better than my indoo plants.

today was cloudy when I took the pix.

so how they lookin now.

05-15-2008, 06:26 AM
hydro, thnx for the kind words in my log, yours are doing even better. very healthy looking great color. you can foliar feed them 1/4 strength, it is very beneficial in veg stage, especially if it has rained and the soil is too moist. just make sure the leaves aren't already soaked, spray them good, and they should dry up within 30-2 hrs depending on ur temps there (90-100 here already)

as far as sexing goes, I have read and been told that outdoor they can show as soon as their a foot to foot 1/2 high. my plant last year didnt show for a while. but yes how much light it gets is key in determining that. and because they are up against the side of the building, as the months roll on, that spot will get more or less light.

i feel you on the lack of activity on these forums, so i will subscribe to this to help if I can.

gl bro :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ok so the flowering time starts in what month of the year in texas?

summer solstice is june 21st. thats the first day of summer 12 hours of light, 12 hours of dark. your plants are likely to flower in August so expect to see signs of sex late july...thats when mine did last year in central tx....(all depending on strain.)

this year im putting out clones that have been in veg(24/0) from june 10-21 in hopes for an earlier harvest.

your plants are looking good, a good companion plant for smell is rosemary. it can be a strong smell given the right variety. it will also help keep the deer away. keep us updated

hydrocannabis
05-22-2008, 08:28 PM

hydrocannabis

Your plants are looking great, hydrocannabis! They are getting mighty big, and I look forward to watching them develop! It looks to me like this picture noted in the link below is of a female? The picture seems to show some pistil development? I could be wrong, as I am new to the game, but thought I would pass this along for your and others' comments. The picture is the last picture in the reply at the very top of this page - as the picture link below does not show the picture in its full size, leaving it difficult to discern to what I am referring.

The sad thing is that I half to wate till august befor they start flowering. but on the + side they R ginna be huge by then.
I am gunna have to tie them down even more.

so hope fuly I'll get a great yeld.

and am 100% sure that I should have toped them around 3 times by now. and 1 time each month. so they could have been super bushy by now. and I tryed to scrog them but it didn't work well.
or I didn't do it right.

now for pix of the rest of my plants.:D

looking very good man, I knew it wouldn't be long before they starting showing preflowers. the pistils are already looking quite frosty, any idea on the strain? good idea on using those round plant holders to hold them up, mine always seem to be getting blown over (I'll bet at least 1 of them has blown over since I last seen them today), forcing me to go out and visit them every day just to straighten them up. I haven't wanted to go out that often, but it pisses me off to see them keep falling over (I seriously have to do something about it tomorrow, I'll see if I can pick up some of those cage/trellis thingies you're using).

if it keeps happening I'm honestly gonna give the degenerate bitches some bondage and tie them down for LST (since they seem to want to grow that way).

keep up the good work.

hydrocannabis
06-03-2008, 04:41 AM
any idea on the strain? na 1 day I was smoken some good buds I bought and they had grown 5 seeds in there buds out an 8th of goodbud.:D

I was so high I for got to save them for my next indoor grow.
my :joint1::joint1: ass ended up throwing all 5 seeds out de window. I guess a few of them landed in the big black pots that just happend to have some good vegie soil in them already for some dang reason.
they ended up growing well so I just thought I'd try an outdoo grow this year.

hopefuly I get a nice sized yield off them.
and 1 of the dank seeds had landed in the pach in the ground.
Im thinken cuz it has fater leafs than the rest of em. like an indica.

so how tall R ur plants. lsting them would also make them bush out more.

well good luck wit ur grow.

knock on a lot of wood.;)

but how the hell have they grownup so good in this regular (old) soil?

thay haven't had any ferts just ph corrected water. 5.9-6.3 is the waters ph after fixed.

so they only have had water and sun and 19-20 gallons of old cheap soil.

they R looking way better than any of my indoo plants.
not counting my past hydro DWC plants.
but they R bigger than any plant I ever grew.:D

Ok so I am updating my grow log not that anyone gives a rats ass about it.
so the new news is that plant named snake is a male for sure. so he got cut today. and his ballsacks had NOT opened yet.:D

and The 1 called big birtha is sativa and now a female.:D and I am gunna have to tie her down within the next week.

hydrocannabis! Dude, my apologies for not replying to this thread - I have not given it much thought since I saw what I thought was your consolidated thread (my guess as to why no one else has been replying to this one also). I just visited today on a whim after I saw you had replied to your own thread - I was curious as to an update on what I thought was an old log.

You certainly have my attention again, and am AWED by the beauty of your ladies! Dude, your plants are flippin' BUSHES! I am especially amazed by the fact you have not provided any nutrients to these girls. The soil must be really good, providing them the perfect balance of nutrients? I wouldn't touch a thing, my friend. Just sit back and water them from time to time and wait on your big bud delivery systems!

Now that I am dialed into your old/new log again, you can be sure I will keep track of these fine ladies!

I hope all else is well with you. Be good out there!

Did you prepare the soil outdoors before you transplanted? I have a vegtable garden and it produces very well. I will add some composted manure and peat moss in the spring before planting. I check PH but haven't added lime to sweeten (ph up) in years. Other than that I don't ordinarily use any nutes. It seems to be a fact that the first year the soil in a garden may produce the best. So, your grow seems to show that very well. Nice dirt, bub!

I got a question. will the sativa be able to hold her buds up or am I gunna need to stake the bud branchs.

or maybe when I move it to that sunnyer corner of the yard and I could SCROG it. Id have to put lots of other bushy plants around to help hide the ass sativa.

hydro, it's sort of hard to tell if that plant is male or female from the pictures and early development. If I had to venture a guess, I would say female, based upon the satellite's early view. I can give you a "hoorah," as your plants continue to look extremely healthy and vibrant, my friend! You are doing a dang good job - just sit back and watch them grow!

Continued good luck to you, my friend! Be good out there!

1st pic is of the top of the one that I think looks male.
2ed is a nother pic of the top of that plant.
3ed is a pic of the sunny corner I am gunna put my mj bush at.
and this pic was taken in the late after noon. it does get all day megga sun there.

so what I am gunna do is buy a bunch of sun loving plants/bushs.
and put them all around my MJ plant. then I am going to tie the mj plant down.
and U'll see how cool it will look when I finish makeing it all look nice.
I am thinking my plant should get huge buds in that spot.
because it gets an ass load of good sun.

hydro hydro hydro. you worry too much man. just relax and keep the pics coming and people will see how nice those plants are. They look great in my opinion. I would move them out of the pots before flowering like shovel said and i'm sorry to say but i believe that most recent pic is a male. but don't chop it down unless YOU are sure and get another word on it. I'm not too sure who the best outdoors man are on this site but try searching around some outdoor grows and ask for some education on the matter.

I think you have a smart idea about the multiple plants sounding the mj. It will most definitely look pretty sweet with all the green and should smell amazing if ya get some nice scents in there accompanying the girl.

and I've been all over this site and just haven't been in the log forums but I'm going to start to be often bc it's a great learning atmosphere.

Good luck with the ladies and try finding those pricks before flowering. I'll be sure to keep an eye on ya

hydro, all of your ladies are looking great! I am having a tough time with my tomato plants too; I think the heat is really getting to mine, but my MJ plants are thriving in the heat, as yours appear to be doing as well.

I really like your outdoor garden; it helps camoflauge your ladies. I have employed the same technique in my backyard. I've had friends and family who partake of the smoke over, and they were none the wiser as to the MJ in the crowd of other plants.

Keep up the fine grow, my friend!

I guess I got over the fear and found some cojones.;):D

Thanks for the inspiration.

If you mean beginning of November it might be hard pressed but by middle/end of that month they should be ripe.

09-18-2008, 04:49 AM
do you think by holding them down it's slowing growth

hydrocannabis
09-19-2008, 07:55 PM
no. what I think is slowing down there growth is this feckn tree that is in the front yard and is blocking some good after noon sun.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

but they do get some great morning sun till about 1:30 then by by sfternoon sun.
but then the sun pops back out around 4:00 or so once it hits this hole in the tree's branches that R on the other side of the tree.

and if my sativa plants don't finish by november I am gunna bring then indoors to finisn. while keeping them on the same light cycle they were on when they were outdoors. but it will still be 12-12.

I'll have that figered out by then. but I want all of em to finish outdoors.
and I want the sativas to get bigger.

also today I add my bloom ferts 1 TBS to 1-1/2 gallon of ph 5.9-6.0 water.

Im gunna get some good sunset pix of the buds/whole garden on like monday or tusday.

:hippy::thumbsup: and keep :stoned:

those girls are looking great hydro. if the weather stays warm, which depending where you live it may not, i think you'll get a nice yield from them.

i do remember last year it was quite warm around here until mid october but from then on it was quite chilly. but the plants i had outside loved the cold and seemed to perk up right before harvest in 1st week of november. So good luck and if you have to bring those girls inside, i'm sure they won't mind. just make sure your cautious and don't harm the roots

great grow, look forward to seeing the next months growth

hydrocannabis
09-26-2008, 07:53 AM
anyone think they might be ready by the end of oct.
or the beginning of november.

so if they need to go all the way till november to fatten up all the way then I deff wanna letem go all the way.

Mr.GoodMorning02
09-26-2008, 07:52 PM
in my novice opinion i'd say wait til mid/end of october. i'm sure they'll be quite fat at this time. but just check the trichs. idk what your going for but if they seem 50/50 before november i'd take em down then. unless you want more amber ratio, then wait a bit longer.

plants look amazing though, should be some nice yielding home grown greatness

Personally I think that end of October will be the perfect timing. Just take a sample next month at the same date and check the trichomes with a microscope (hope you have one!), quite sure it will be almost ready ! Good job with the grow by the way.
