If you didn't know Charlton Heston died this past weekend
Heston is my favorite actor of all time. He has given movie fans so many wonderful and powerful movie moments over a large array of classic movies. From Ben-Hur, El Cid, to Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green and the Ten Commandments..etc. I could go on for a long time.
Outside of being one of the greatest actors of all time he fought for Civil Rights heavily supporting Martin Luther King, He is quite well known for his defense of the 2nd Amendment as well as other rights and liberties.
While I am sad he is now gone I am also glad that his suffering that he has been going through the past several years with his fight with Alzheimer's is now over.
I myself am agnostic so I could not tell you if he is now in a better place but if there is some form of a heaven or afterlife I'm sure he is there. If not be assured his memory will remain alive in the great movies he made that will continue to delight moviegoers with his greatness for a very long time to come.
Care to pay your respects to Heston? Perhaps by giving us a famous quote of his that you remember?
Here I have one:
Get your paws off me you damn dirty ape!
