I was wondering what additives and supplements everyone is using and/or has liked during the flowering stage when using soil. I have read all the post on here, but most if not all are for hydroponics which I'm not sure if they are okay for soil or not. The ones I've seen listed on here most are: Topmax, Liquid Karma, Kool bloom, and Calmag plus. If anyone has used these or any other products I would be glad to hear their success or failure. I am in the 1st week of flowering just so everyone knows. Also if anyone has heard of or used Dark energy tell me if it works. I read it takes off a couple of weeks of flowering but I've only read that. Thanks for reading.

hey hey.
ive used liquid karma with pretty good results and lots of people around here swear by it. it definitely produces a more vigorous plant.
cal mag plus seems to also work well. i use it every once in a while to keep everything in line and ive never had any cal or mg problems.
gravity is a flower hardener and finisher made by humboldts own. ive used it a couple times and it definitely does pretty much what it says its going to do on the bottle. it can make rockhard nuggets which isnt always desirable, so be sure to follow directions and even use less than the recommended amount.

Their are a ton of organic additives but they aren't all that good. FoxFarm (grow, bloom, tiger bloom) is the best that I have ever tried. The reg. bloom is all organic and the tiger and the grow is like 80% organic with a touch of readily available chemical nuterients to give it that initial boost. Liquid karma is a great addition. It works best if you foliar-feed (spray the leaves)with a light mixture of LK and distilled water about 30 minutes before the light comes on. I use to do this religiously and everyday maybe 1 minute after the light fired up the plants' leave would be perfectly perked up towards the light like starving solar panels. Another good one is Hygrozyme... I always thought it was a chemical.. Then after looking at the bottle it says organic all over it. It keeps the soil clean and helps just keep the medium and plant healthy. And one of my personal favorite additives and probably the cheapest is molasses. Molasses is basically just raw carbohydrates that the plant can take up and convert into energy.Molasses is high in Potassium (1-0-7) too. If the plant doesn't use the energy then the carbohydrates (sugar) is started in the buds, leaves... ect. When I stop giving nutrients at the end of the harvest. I always give them about 2tsp/gal and about a 1/3 of a gallon each 2-3times a day. Ever since I started doing this I always get that sugar sweet aftertaste when I smoke homegrown.
Is dark energy a three-part? I found the Grow(2-0-0) in a catelogue. I guess supernova(1-1-1) is the bloom? It seems like its made well just maybe alittle watered down. I would sugest General Hydroponic 3-part or 2-part, Bonticare pure-blend, and most of all foxfarm 3-part.

Mushamboom, thanks for the response. I picked up some LK and some calmeg+ . I was curious how often you add the calmeg because on the bottle it says to use every use but if I can use it less and not spend as much that would be great. I've never heard of gravity so I'll have to look in to that but thanks again for your help.

Earthy, thank you too for the response. I am using fox farm bloom and tiger bloom on half of my crop and I agree it's working great but I was looking for something else like LK which you suggested. Do you foliar feed daily or just whenever you have the time? The other half of my crop I use Sugar peak flowering. Just to do some experiements and see how this strain reacts to both. Anyway the guy at the grow shop said I might want to lay off molasses for this half because it already has a load of carbs in it already...but I like your thinking. I'll keep that suggestion in mind. As for Hygrozyme I'll have to look into that. I've never heard of it. I'm not sure what the dark energy is exactly. I just ran into it online and read that stuff but I would hate to burn my ladies so decided that I'm not going to take the risk to add it. Thanks again for your help.

If you are using tap water you should be fine on mg and cal. If ro water you will definately need the cal-mag. If you use it with tap water I'd suggest once every 2 weeks. It certainly woun'thurt anything.

For supplements, lately I'm using these:
CalMag- My well water gets weird in spring during snowmelt, and starts to resemble a very dilute and disturbingly pure organic acid solution... HELL on the buffering capacity of the soil, and only a couple mg/L CaCO3.
Stacker/SnowStorm/PurpleMaxx- They keep changing the name of the product but it's real nice stuff. I give it as a foliar so as not to interfere with soil chemistry. I have had mixed results with Humboldts Own products. This time around, my results are stellar. The plants look rolled in pixie dust!
Sweet- I use this at about 5-10mL/gallon along with some extra sugar from unsulfured molasses.
TopMax- Better product than Sweet, but more expensive by far, and overkill in my garden since I use the Sweet, molasses, and will on occasion apply Gravity. But I love TopMax and if you pick only one bloom booster, this is my top recommendation for especially newer growers, since it is pretty foolproof and works well.
Canna Boost- Everyone gets this- rooted clones, veggers, moms, flowering ladies. It just makes them seem more vigorous. I'm not sure that I'll go buy some; the shop guy gave me a free sample, but some outdoor people I know just ADORE the stuff and I am passing their recommendation along to you-all.
Note that I do not run high P bloom blasters as a general rule. I've got some Grotek stuff but have only used it a couple times. I feel that my standalone bloom fert is already giving adequate results, and I don't want to overdo the macros.

Once a week I use Purple Maxx,Molassess and Super Thrive.
This was my first grow with the Purple Maxx. Crystal formation and bud tightness was excellent and plus they turned purple.

Never use SuperThrive in flower. It's got too much N in it and will hurt your yield.

Thanks for the help grey. This will save me some time and money. I wasn't planning on buying it but one of my hydro friends said since I'm using part coco in my soil mix I should get some. Not sure if this is true but I didn't want to take any chances. Thanks again

You're the main person I heard that used tomax and from your many post and I decided to take your word for it. It is a little expensive but I'm experimenting so it doesn't matter. Although, I was wondering how much you use? I'm in my second week now and the bottle says use 2-5 ml per l and the scheduler says 1 ml per l. I was hoping you would tell me how much you use and in teaspoons or tablespoons per gallon because it is easier with my measurements. At first I was going to go for the Purple Maxx because 2 people suggested it but I read the back of the label at the grow shop and it told me to cut my nuts by a 1/3 and a bunch of other modification and I decided just to play it safe and go for the topmax. But maybe another time I'll use it. I'll keep everyone posted with my experiments but even after this first week in my fox farm vs. sugar peek(1/2 from hydro schedule) the sugar peak has boosted my plants by at least 3 more in. in average over the fox farm but the fox farm seems to be working more on the busher side. We'll see how it turns out. I have posted my feeding schedule:
Part one back left:
fox farm nutrients:
Tiger Bloom: 2 tsp per g
Big Bloom: 1Tbl per g
EVERY OTHER WATERING
Supernatural Bud Blaster:
1 tsp per 5 g.
Liquid Karma:

week 3-5- 2 tsp per g
grand finale: week 6&7- 2 tsp per g
Bud Blaster:
1 tsp per 5 g.
Liquid Karma:
2 tsp. per g
EVERY OTHER WATERING
Part four front right:
sugar peak nutrients:

currently use Fox farm grow big and big bloom during vegetative stage and tiger bloom and big bloom during flowering. I really dont use any other fert. but I do fert. quite liberally when the plant has shown tolerance. I was also wondering about Hygrozyme. I received a bottled for free and I have been hesitant to use it. Has anyone used this? thoughts? dosage?
thanks!

I don't measure my topmax precisely. I usually end up using about 10mL per gallon plus some molasses, whenever I remember to. It's a nice supplement that isn't likely to scorch your plants like a super P booster!
You can use PurpleMaxx as a foliar feed if you like, just FYI.

On this grow I decided to buy some purple maxx and had a few personal preference questions. I still have a lot of topmax still and if I use the purple maxx only as a foilar feed can I still use the topmax? Also I am using pure blend pro so I'm not sure if that is good or bad with these products. I was personally wondering what strength you use with these products on your plants. Like do you cut down 1/3 on your base nutrients due to the purple maxx or it is only when you mix with water. Well I am curious what you would suggest because I took your advise with the topmax and it was a great one. So thank you for the recommendation especially becuase that was my first grow. The products I have are liquid karma, hygrozyme, sweet, topmax and purple maxx. o of course the pure blend pro. Thanks for all the help.

A good rule to follow is if you are adding another nute, cut back even more on what you are already running. Even if it is foliar. I run my base nutes a little on the weak side and also use my supplements weaker than recommended, so I don't really cut back too much, but I DO have the ability to decrease my light intensity and heat in emergencies in case I screw things up. lol... that's probably not too helpful, but I guess it's just to say, GO EASY and test your plants' limits gradually. You can use both topmax and purple maxx at the same time, but in that case I'd DEFINITELY foliar the purple shit. Lightly ;)

I am not from southern africa and this is my first grow. We dont get all these flower supple u guys are talking about on this side of the world.
I am a first time grower, so is there any specific level the nutirent shold be. if i can get a break down, then maybe i can find a replacement local product here at home...

I'm not exactly sure but I know that during flowering you want to cut away the N(or low doses) and put higher levels of P and K. You might be able to order off the internet.

Hey Sticky, thanks for the reply. I will lower my doses for sure. Even now I use 1/2 of all my nutes and additives. Better safe than sorry. I have a EC of about 2.0 and 2.4 in soil which i think is 1000-1200 ppm. I don't know if this is correct, but it's safe and it works. I used Bushmaster a little while ago on some plants and it didn't seem to stop my vertical growth but it did start flowering sooner and the plants I used it on look great. I used it at a low rate. I'm gonna start using purple maxx in a couple weeks and I think I'm gonna use 1/2 of rec. and still use 1/2 nutes and foilar feed instead of watering. It's all an experiement. I also have some gravity which I think I'll test out. but only on a couple plants. I've read a lot of forums on it and know all the info. (at least i think i do) about these products. I'm just wondering how you " DO have the ability to decrease my light intensity and heat in emergencies in case I screw things up". Well basically I wanted to say thanks for the reply and it's always great to hear from an expert.
