Im so pumped, going to see all of these acts at a local club. Brutal metal in a small venue! If this tour is coming anywhere near you and you're into metal GET A TICKET! All of these bands are great in thier own respects.

Genghis Tron - A truly unique band that combines metal with electronic influences... They consist of a guitarist. A keyboard/sample player, and a vocalist who also programs the drum tracks. They add in the electronic sounds in a way that is not cheesey at all and suprisingly fuses with the metal very well. I reccomend the album "Board Up The House"

The Red Chord - Very raw and brutal deathgrind, very fast riffs and technical blastbeats, many of thier songs seem to be inspired by real insane people the vocalist met while working in a pharmacy or has encountered elsewhere. Recommend the album "Clients" or "Fused Together in Revolving Doors"

Baroness - Prog Metal with a wide range of influences. Anyone who likes Mastodon will almost certainly dig these guys, although they do have a sound of thier own. Check out "The Red Album"

Converge - The only band you really need to know in the hardcore scene as they are what all hardcore should be, this band makes some of the most technical and melodic yet at the same time raw and brutal hardcore out there. Check the albums "No Heroes" or "Jane Doe"

God this show is gonna so much ass, i may have an overload of awesomeness for the whole week... and also have my ears ringing. :D

Naw dude, I LOVE converge! Jane Doe is amazing! I actually don't like No Heros as much (though Grim Heart/Black Rose is a great song), but Petitioning The Empty Sky is very good as well.

I've been meaning to check out Genghis Tron, actually. I've heard a few songs, but I need to download/buy an album sometime.

I have like three songs from Baroness. It's some split with another band. But I'd like to check them out a bit more, too.

And I have one of The Red Chord's albums, and it's not bad at all. One of my friends saw them with Between The Buried And Me, and he said they were amazing like.

But wow, I would've loved to just see Converge live, regardless of the other bands! I'm sure they put on a great show!

genghis tron is fuckin sweet... and they sound just as great live as they do on cd.. check the album board up the house.. it's thier most recent and IMO their best. Baroness is cool, but i gotta say they were the lest impressive at the show, the even fell off tempo at a few spots and just seemed kinda sloppy. The Red Chord fuckin destroyed live... that was some seriously awesome shit. Wierd though cause despite as heavy as the band is, between songs the vocalist is like the nicest happiest guy, and me and my friend spotted the bassist around town after the show and we started talking with him for a while, real nice guy.

I just checked the dates. Their last US show is in Philadelphia, so I might check it out. Hopefully I can drag a few guys with me, cause I don't feel like getting lost in philly alone.

Also, I actually just got You Fail Me and When Forever Comes Crashing the other day. I'm loving YFM, but I haven't listened to WFCC too much yet.

I've kinda only recently gotten into Converge, but I've managed to see them twice already. Last year opening for Mastodon and this time around as mentioned in the previous post. I haven't heard "You Fail Me", or "When Forever Comes Crashing" yet. Let me know how they are. I do have No Heroes, and I actually like that one a lot, Jane Doe I just the other day and I've been listening to it constantly. I think the next one I buy will probably be "Petitioning The Empty Sky" ...

Also everyone seems to say these guys are a hardcore band but I've listened to some other hardcore bands and none of them really have the intensity of Converge, and some hardcore fans have said they're not really hardcore but some die-hard Converge fans swear they are... All I know is whatever the hell they are considered they fuckin' rock.

Dude...I fucking love Baroness...I've never really heard any Red Chord, and I just recently heard Genghis Tron and you are right, that shit is so unique sounding, but so heavy. Have you heard Baroness' First and Second EP's? They are fucking amazing. Whats a few of your favorites on the red album?

First of all, I dont know why the hell I quoted your first post when I replied...you probably knew what I was fucking talking about! Second of all, I forgot to ask if you'd ever heard of Kylesa? Theyre a metal/stoner/punk/fucking awesome band from Savannah,GA, my hometown. You should check them out. They're not really as technical as any of the bands you've mentioned, but they seriously will just blow your fucking ear drums apart with some heavy ass shit.

I've heard of Kylesa, havent had a chance to actually hear them yet, but I've been meaning to check them out.

I really like Baroness as well, but they played a good chunk of the Red Album at the show, and I dunno, I just wasnt half as impressed with them live as I am when I listen to the album, it could have just been a bad day for them, but they seemed kinda sloppy live and noticeably fell off tempo from each other at times, that was a big thing i just couldnt get past listening to the live set. And they didn't play anything from the other 2 EP's wich was kinda dissapointing. I have the first ep but not the second.

I still haven't given Forever Comes Crashing a thorough listen yet, but You Fail Me has some great tracks on it. But yea, I'd say get PTES next.

I'm pretty bad with genres/band labeling, and I really don't know what Converge is. I just look at them as metal, but really I don't care. :D
