My plant has been budding for about 5 weeks and the hairs are browning, about half of them are brown. The top buds have about 50% brown hairs and the ones bellow have none should i harvest it when only a couple of buds have brown hairs at the moment. Please give any response.
do you have any pics? if you have buds that have that much brown you can harvest those specific buds and let the others stay on the plant and then it will concentrate on those buds.

How would i dry it out if i was to do that?, i cut the main stem so there are 2 shoots coming out the side which arent very long?
you can just clip those certain buds and leave a little step and either hang that somewhere to dry slowly or put it in a paper back and open daily to air it out.
but sometimes it is normal for the hairs to change color being close to the light. if you had pics it would be easier for more people to express their opinion

When i look at proper buds (when you buy it) all of the hairs are brown, i think it might be the light thing, i will leave it until tomorrow and see how much the hairs have changed.
Looking at it i see that the lower hairs on the bud are all white but the ones right at the top are half brown half white.
Also when i do my next grow i want to know how people get their plants to become really bushy at about 10inchs high, my grows always come out lanky, i use a fan and a 250w hps and it doesnt become lanky because of lack of light?
if you go to google.com and type the words ( cannabis no stress training ) also known as NST. you will find GREAT information on how to manipulate your plants to get that more bushy and MORE buds thing going on. go check it out. very very cool stuff.

thanks 4 that i am well pleased about what i have learnt from a website off google about LST, this will triple the amount of bud i get.
Come to think of it i will just leave the plant and see how it goes, harvest it when my common sense tells me to. But i will make sure not to leave it too long.
thanks

A good rule-of-thumb for harvesting is to harvest when about 75%--80% of pistils have changed colour. TCH production at that time is slowing and begins to degrade into CBNs' or CBND....CBD:cannabiolic acid....CBDN:cannabinadiolic acid. Levels ofTHC and CBNs affect the intensity and quality of the high as well as taste and aroma.

go by trichomes, not pistils, and it isnt any ware near done at 5 weeks.

use trics. tta determine maturity... when they have the amber threwout.. it is time..
as stated below tOO EARLY AT 5 WEEKS ur browning nay be due ta HEAT up top in ur gro room...
use fans and keep temps below 72 if u can this imitates fall(drop of temp) pull lights back 3-4 inches /week so as buy week 8 u r 2 feet or more away from ur bud ...this will tighten ur buds n reduce premature browning from light heat in room heat .
always imHop...
keep...
