how long after you cut down your plant before you cut your fan leaves off?

I cut them off as soon as they come down because the less foliage the quicker it dries. I actually will do a preliminary trim while still on the branch. It gives a little jump start on what can become tedious in the big trim. Hope that helps

I know lots of folks wait until dry, before manicuring, but I find it easier when the plant is fresh ... the fan leaves stand out more, easier to trim ... as far as effect on the plant, it doesnt matter when you manicure, and removing fan leaves earlier is just that much less to require drying ...

I do the bulk of my trimming when the plant still retains some turgidity, before hanging. Then if there are any ugly bits poking out when the bud is dy, I snip them back at the same time I remove the individual buds from the plant.

pick them off the stems when you harvest. It is much easier when they are fresh and plus it will speed your drying time :smokin:
I would also suggest manicuring the buds before you hang them.
