I have the same and I am not sure what to use on them. They are tiny black gnat looking flys. Looks like it's coming from the soil. They do fly. I have an indoor setup and also I got some mushrooms growing in the soil. I pulled them out. Don't know how that happened. This soil that I used was gurranteed to be bug free, the brand is (Kellog - Patio Plus indoor and outdoor potting soil). Is this stuff ok to use. I have been using it for 30 days now.

:0 u had a random mushroom grow in ur soil? sounds like something a bit odd in ur grow room. u got good ventilation and temperature and all that? I had a little weed (non-psychoactive ;))grow in my pot but a mushroom seems strange.

if the flies come from the soil that is definitely very disgusting. Looks like u are gonnna have to sit around clapping flies with ur hands. KILL THEM!!! or they could just be harmless....

Yeah I have pretty good ventilation. The temp is good too. Not too hot and not to humid. It doesn't get too cold either. There must have been about five mushrooms in four pots of soil. Weird I would have to agree. The flys have iridescent wings. They are small. They like the soil and leaves. What kind of insecticide should I use to get rid of them?

Use Neem Oil. Mix 1/2 tsp. neem oil and 1/4 tsp. mild dish soap into 1 liter/quart water (I prefer distilled), shake it up reakl good. Now spray the WHOLE PLANT, underside of the leaves and all, and spray the hell out of the soil. Repeat this every other day for a week, you will still see the gnats, but they will not be able to reproduce, kinda like bug-genocide. The adult gnats are harmless to your plants, it's the larvae that hurt the plants by eating the roots. You can also mix a slightly stronger solution and spray the rest of the grow room to be sure that they don't come back.

Also this is a safe solution that can be used except in the final week of flowering.

Hope this helps.

I was going to use the oil but the specialist that helped me was insisting that the larvacide would be the better choice to kill the fungus gnats . So far so good. I've treated them three times in the last week and it has killed almost all of the gnats. I was told that it would not harm the plants. It seems to be ok at this time. I will let you know if i'm doomed in the future.

If you are having trouble with pests mix up some garlic powder and water and spray it on the plant it won't hurt it but the bugs will go bye bye!! it even works on those chinese beetles

Get a spray bottle, fill it with water and add 3-4 drops of dish detergent. Shake it up and mist your plants and the top of the soil when you turn out the lights. These Gnats or white flies often come in the soil.

http://www.plasmaneem.com/neem.htm for neem...safers is great but kuul has the best idea with a little detergent in the spray bottle. Sounds like fungus gnats. The yellow sticky pest strip is an excellant way to go.
The Safers , Neem and dish soap are all fairly benign derivatives. Remember whatever you spray on your plants, you will be ingesting.

One day with the treatment and I see that my leaves are looking like they are trippin' alittle. They look like I had given it too much water all of a sudden. I'm a bit concerned. Should I be? Is this a common thing to happen when you spray it down with Neem oil and dish soap. I also gave it some food 6 or 7 hours before. Is it from that? That was the first time I had given them any nutrients.

u found it at a good price! When I used it on 1 day for whiteflys I sprayed the plant twice wet on the 1 day and that did it .A week later no bugs.I never tryed it on big flowering plants but it worked for the smaller young .Ended up losing only a few leaves.
