Hi guys,

I've got a couple questions for you. I'm starting a small grow 2-4 plants with envirolites, 125-160watts for veg and 300-400watts for flowering. I'm thinking about LSTing to keep them short to get the lights closer to more of the budsites and reduce the light penetration issues that go along with envirolie/cfl lighting to maximize yield.

Right, the questions........

Is LST the best way to maximize yield of a strain like WW in this setup?

At what age/height would you recommend to start flowering?
I'd always thought you shouldn't start flowering till at least 4 weeks but i've seen some crazy yields from plants that went into flowering after 2 weeks from seed. Are there many growers that have success with such short veg times? What are the yields like?

Thanks for your help!

I'm going to use topping and LST on my 4 clones with a 400w mh. You can put your baby in flower anywhere from 4"-12", because they can double or triple even in size the first couple weeks of flowering. Mine are also clones so it may take a littl bit longer. I'm still new to this though. lol Good luck and post some pics when get them.:hippy:

i have some ww going now and they are a very forgiving strain ive tryed to kill some that just wont die, not really but me and my stupid experiments some should have died. i would prolly flower1 and clone off the other but if you started from seed you need to sex them first 50/50 male female ratio with 2 you might get 1 female i let my mother mature to alter nating nodes, thats a lie i forgot to pay my electric bill and had no lights for two days and she decided to start flowering and matured herself when the lights came back on i put her back to 18/6 and took clones all clones come out mature and are ready for flower and no hermies.

i am no expert but i think you are supposed to be careful mixing lst and topping/fimming. my experience is kinda the same, easier to stick to one or the other and i wouldnt lst branches that have been topped/chopped in anyway. but that just my 1.5 grows of experience..i was lst'ing a plant that had initially been topped, and the top is gone now, cuz it broke off, the topped branches cant handle the bends. top for pretty looking plants (normaller looking), they're uniform, easy- one snip or pinch and yer done. lst for monsters and super moms. lst causes more side growth and is better at keeping it low but also more maintenence, but topping may keep the nodes closer.
