I have built a hydro system out of a 23 gallon rubbermaid tub...at least I think I have. Will it work is the real question. Let me know if you think I have overlooked or completely messed this up:
23 gallon tub with submersible pump and air stone in the bottom. The air pump is housed outside the container. I cut the lid to fit two 10" square baskets on top. I run the hosing from the pump through a fitting in the center of the lid and from there I put the hosing into a T fitting. I ran hosing off both sides of the T and plugged each end with hose caps. I have two gallon/hour drippers, one over each basket. I have filled the basket with hydroton. The nutrient/water drips from above and drains out the basket into the reservoir below. Will this work out and if so, how often do I keep the drippers running? Constantly? Finally, what type of system would this be considered exactly? Thanks for any help; I might be able to post a picture in the very near future if it is too hard to picture from my description. Thanks!
