1st major indoor grow ICE white strain

received 10 non feminized ICE seeds ( 1998 cannabis cup winner)
planted 5 on march 21st 2008. using the areogarden for initial seeding . along with 1/4 teaspoon of general hydroponics FLORA NOVA 7-4-10 grow solution added to 1 gallon of water. had two inch sprouts in about 1 week. on march 29th 2008 transplanted all five sprouts in fox farm soil 6" by 6" pots. using 1/4 teaspoon in a gallon of water to water all five plants same day. placed under 400w hps attached to a 4' p and g (i think) fan. on April 4th 2008 (pictures in profile) noticed initial small round sprout leaves slightly yellow and some larger leaves starting to turn upward. last water was tues. april 1st. one leaf showing small burn at tip. light is one foot from top of plants plus small fan blowing across plants at all times.:weedpoke: soooo .... any idea thoughts so forth like i said its my first major grow and i could use a handhttp://cannabis.com/viewPhoto.php?photo_id=1720&title=week_2_Ice_first_day_of_closet&ref=Hbcubs2

so i really wish i knew how to post pictures in this thing.... any who i potted my other 5 seedlings.... im vegging the larger 5 in the bottom half of my cupboard and the smaller ones in the top . i still don't know the sex cause im waiting to to get the larger plants to a nice size and take a clone root the clone then find out it sex from there so i can keep the rest of the plant in veg. i have enough room to do a nice scrog or if i wanted to let them go big and just have one large cola but ive noticed these have not stretched out alot they ar very full and short so far.. i moved the lights away hoping the side shoots will get a little longer instead of bushing. i also started bending the plants to give the shoots more light ...... i spoke too soon i got pics woot... hey i also have more pics under tag ice 4-11-08 and in my profile... and sorry obout the sideways pic but thats my grow cupboard... can anyone point my to a tutorial on how to post more then one pichttp://cannabis.com/files/photos/dc40b7120e77741L.jpg

for the pics, I think you just repeat the process you used for that pic. I also believe you have to wait until you reach 50 posts and get a "registered +" status. I have been using an online picture hosting service then using the link to those photos within the message by hitting the picture Icon in the message edit dialog box.

From the picture, it appears you have your burn issue solved. I was going to suggest you may have over nuted them to early but they look good to me.

the burn issue i think was from the initial transplant from the aerogarden to the soil it was a huge change... i have to say right now no matter what light i have them under if i move them or bend them on day the next day i have to do it again cause they have bent all the paperclips i have been using to hold them in place

so i have been sick lately and this morning i woke up and noticed that some older growth is turning yellow from the bottom up :( i know what i did i just need to flush them to much nute. is bad

Definitely do a flush. Then what exactly is your nute mix, and how often?

All I see is you are using FF nutes I think. Right now your mix should be 1 tsp. Grow Big, 1 Tbls. Big Bloom nothing else, except ph down if needed. And you must alternate between nuted water and plain water. I highly recommend getting the entire group of FF nutes. It is well worth the cost, and follow the feeding chart that comes with the granular package.

hopefully i can spam my own thread with pictures let me go over what i have been doing.... they have been in 12x12 for 6 weeks now. i have been using 1/10 a teaspoon per gallon of water of bud blood for the first two weeks of bloom rotating between plain water and that, watering every other day. with he same water schedule changed to flora nova bloom food, untill yesterday last two weeks will be 3/16 of a teaspoon per gallon of MAD FARMERS MOAB (mother of all blooms)... my plants are short because i didnt give them much room to grow i did however on a few plant use FIM technique and on some i used scrog and on two plants that are showing the best buds i just let them go (one of those plants has buds going all the way to the dirt . i have to say they arnt as smelly as i thought they would be but when you touch them they have a very heavy smell and a few non smoking freinds tell me it smells almost like a fuel has been spilled. im happy with theis and i have five clones ready to go in the closet in two weeks this time im going to give them more room to grow i have the space im ganna see how tall i can get them. so let me know what you think also you can alwas go to my photobucket page and take a look at the rest of my pics from earlyer and from last summers trys ill keep this updated a little more:jawdropper: :weedpoke:

thanks shovel, you know i read thru a couple of your logs and noticed some nice ass plants was curious , i have used 1 gallon pots i was told i would still get decent sized plants and in all honesty they are short :(. what size buckets ae you using in your 4th of july 2008 grow. i have room to spare right now and im hopping to take theis clones to at least 3-4 feet. also i have a 4 foot long florecent i use durign the summer days during my 12/12 just your basic work shop light what bulbs do you sugest i use..

and just an update if any of yall know caregiver on here hes a buddy of mine curently working with some pre 98 clones , purp, and L.A. kush, we are goign to trade off some of our clones i want a hand at what hes got

I used ten 3 gallon and two 5 gallon buckets. Ya know, I only dumped out the one plant I finished a week or so ago, but it was a 3 gallon and no way was the root bound. The soil still crumbled nice like I first mixed it. It's around some squash plants right now.

so i ordered a 30x magnifier so ill know more accurately when im ready to harvest... and on a different note some of my bigger buds have started getting really sticky and they have lost the heavy fuel smell and are starting to smell more fruity... i cant wait ganna go see the doc this weekend to get my card :rasta:

so my plants are just getting more and more dense with more and more crystals i thought i was on my last two weeks but hardly any of the hairs have changed and they are still getting fat... any advice?:smokin:

i think i have a heat problem i cycle my lights on at night to cut down on heat and power... but i still think the heat peaks to much specially since its been hot then cool then hot again. its getting hard to regulate but i try and despite the pail leafs or the crispy ones. im getting huge dense buds i really wish i knew how to post smaller pics instead im posting the link to my photobucket and just a couple of pics. You do have a heat issue, do you have a fan that may help.

But as for when to harvest use the trich's. Harvest at the first sign of amber!! the plant will go thru flowering cycles meaning the plant will produce new pistiols in cycles first round will start to turn mostly red. Then all of a sudden the plant will burst out with more new pistals due to not being fertilized the first try and is doing everything it can to reproduce. The plant may do this 3 or more times before she finally has expended all her energy and begins to shut down. This is when amber trics begin to appear and is the optimum time to harvest.

By the looks of your plants you may be close to being ready so keep a close eye on them.

yeh i have had a fan on them thats why all the plants looks a little tattered but it helps with the heat and i backed the light off a little more does anyone know how to adjust my signature and what this rep points thing is and how to get more reps?

i believe you just have to earn more reps from fellow members when they feel you deserve them. and as for your heat issues i would just keep the fan going and make sure the temp isn't above 80-85. I've had problems when the temp was around 85-90. buds look bigger and bigger each update so I'd let them go until the trichs get cloudy-amber. whichever you prefer really

i got my 30x mag to check them out but what is the difference of cloudy and amber i mean in reference to the plant and how it smokes. lol i also finally got a thermometer and a soil ph/ moister/ light tester:D

ok so i have done the math and double checked my calander and im at 10 weeks now and it dosnt look liek the end is near any time soon i think im ganna drop my light on ours down by 1, but im hesitant because some of the plants due to the heat look like they are farther along then others grrrr jebus help me

HBcubs2, man your plants look incredible. Since you have your loupe and are able to really see your trichs up close and personal, you should check out some of hatch's threads on trichs. hatch has some really incredible detailed pictures of trichomes which should really help you differentiate between clear, cloudy, and amber, so you will have a better understanding on when to harvest.

As for revising your signature and reputation and everything, go into the UserCP, which is in the green shaded area at the top of the page. You will find all of your user data within the UserCP (User Control Panel). From there you can change your signature, enable your reputation, and other things. Enjoy!

if your trichs are cloudy and amber i'd give her a chop tomorrow if no clear trichs are visible. I'm really unsure about the exact differences between cloudy and amber, but i know the high varies and i'm fairly certian a 50/50 ratio is the best time to harvest. here is something you might find useful.

you know im kinda sad i think i got taken on the seeds or i just didnt do my best with this round... they dont have a smell at all unless you touch them and then they are really fruity smelling then when they are dry they dont have a smell either untill its burnt.. my freinds say it smokes great ... i couldnt tell yah though this is just a hobby... but i did get pre 98 bubba kush and some purple kush and some LA confodentioal clones so we will see how those go.
