ok guys....i am in week 2 of flowering...all plants have shown sex....all females 100%...no sign of any balls except mine :) ...lol just joking.....
i grow in a space of around 15-18 square feet, 8 ladies of variable heights (1 foot to 3 feet) under a 400 hps....i found a good deal on the net comprising of everything that is needed(lamp pots nutrients soil etc)....it has even a ph meter(liquid+test strips) which i don't have at the moment...
anyway the question i want to post is that, if i put one more hps lamp of 250/400 watt will the extra light emitted cause more or bigger buds to be created? or it will cause extra problems?will my ladies be able to use the extra light for the remaining 6 weeks that i have left or the extra light will not be absorbed good?the grow space will not be increased....only the watts from 400 to 650 or 800 :)

It'd be good to get more light, 15-18sq feet is a bit much for a 400. At 50 watts per sq ft a 400 should cover 8-9 sq ft, and the foot print is usually good for 3X3 depending on reflector. I'm guessing the dimensions are 5 or 6 ft X 3 ft? If that's the case another 400 would fit it fine. Only problem is heat buildup, 2X lamps = 2 X heat. if your venting is good enough should be okay but just keep temps down. I'd suggest a 400mh. You have a hps already and getting a mh will let you start plants under the MH light, then when you flower you can use the HPS in conjunction with the MH.

Or you can set up a perpetual harvest using the mh for veg and hps for flower. You'll be able to have a more flexible system and the balance of the 2 specs should be good.

add a different light for sure ,ur plant will love the extra spectrum but watch out for the extra heat ur emmiting too ,some of them kinds of bulbs give off alot of heat.
