ok i know that this is gonna sound like a ridiculous question..
but can you just buy an hps 100watt bulb and screw it right into a socket (closet fixture or any light fixture) or do you have to buy the whole setup?:wtf:
feedback needed!

nope.. won't work. You need a ballast in order to fire it up.

damnitt!!
im sucha noob to indoor growing.. well i wasnt planing on having a setup indoors but an impatient step father changed my mind rather quickly! so my baby has only been flowering for 30 days and i have moved it to a poorly ventilated closet with just a walmart grow bulb(60watt)
:(:(
so my question is can i buy this ballast somewhere like homedepot or do i have to wait another week after placing my order online to recieve it in the mail??

if your going for a 100 watt, then i suggest getting yourself a security light setup. these have the balast in the fitting. but 100watts i think CFL's would be better

damn well i mean its just to help the plant finish flowering. .
like i said im not gonna be growing indoors this was just a last second emergency deal:cool:
-but i found this one.. HPS Ballast 100 Watts, NPF, 120V (http://www.elights.com/hpsbal100wat.html)
so they usually run 70 buckaroos?:wtf:
