I have a bit of a problem with my grow, the plants were left in veg for too long while i got my flower room ready and after putting them into flower they've shot up and theyre too tall, they're now growing even more closer to the light and the distance is within 18 inch to two 600 watt HPS lamps.

Theyve been in flower for 2 weeks now and the light is on the ceiling so nowhere to raise the light up any more... what is the best thing for me to do now? should i just cut the tops off? or snap the stems? ive never fimmed or topped before so not sure if its too late for that, or if i cut the main cola now will i be wasting the best bud?

any help is very much appreciated,

thanks

i would try to bend the tops first, it would be alittle less evasive to the plant. and to that maybe get a trellis screen to help contain the foliage from gettin any higher

I second that, I wouldnt want to put the plant in any more stress than you have to. I would just start tying the top over, you can train it to grow where you want. Good luck!:stoned:

You could pinch one so the stem fell over horizontal. Literally pinch the stem. Don't tear it. You basically want it to go limp but don't tear or completely crush the plant.

Once its time to water them, water/feed them normally wait a couple of hours and try LST bending the plant over verry gently and slowly and tie it down. Just a thought tho.

You can bend, tie, etc... all over the place. And yes you can crush the strem between your thumb and forefinger. I know this will work as I've done it several times. Crush it, bend it over to horizontal and let it lay against tyhe plant next to it. Within 48hrs it will hold itself up. Sometimes I use a stake in the pot to hold the bent stem for a couple of days.

I second the pinch and fold method, just be careful after you do. I have had to do it to my plants and if I'm not careful when moving the plants I have broken a few of the branches that I bent over. Nothing a little tape and a splint cant fix.
