i wonder what role Senator Lieberman would play in a McCain Administration? i'm thinking Sec of State would be a great fit for him but VP might help McCain in the general elections. not so much for the Independent votes, i think McCain has that locked, but Senator Lieberman's strong defense of Israel could help appeal to some conservatives (and neo-cons :wtf: :D). personally i'd like to see an unknown, kinda younger version of John McCain as VP and see Joe working on the Lieberman Mid East Peace Plan. :twocents:

McCain will pick a Christian conservative VP. It'd be pretty silly for him not to, especially if Obama is the Dem nominee. If Hillary's the nominee... it won't matter who he picks, because the Right will turn out in droves just to knock her out. Either way, I'm guessing it'll be a social conservative... McCain's done enough flip-flopping on immigration, torture and other "liberal" issues, so he'll need someone who the Right feels is the "real deal".

When did McCain EVER flip-flop on torture? If I recall from the debates it was both of the Dem candidates that stated under "certain" circumstances they'd consider it. McCain lived the other side of the fence and has been VERY firm on the torture issue. Not that I agree with his stance.

Have a good one!:s4:

yeah, I agree. kinda off topic, but I gotta believe it is just like Christmas morning at the McCain Ranch every day when they turn on the T.V. and see the latest sillyness between the two Dems. :D

In February, McCain voted against a bill (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=2&vote=00022) that bans the CIA from using torture, on specific technique in the bill was "water boarding", which until not that long ago was called the "drowning torture".

Then, after the bill passed the House and Senate, it became clear that McCain was obviously pandering to social conservatives. So he writes this Strongly Worded Letter to the president urging him to veto it. Kind of weird... Here's one article (http://balkin.blogspot.com/2008/02/senator-mccain-is-against-torture-but.html) I found, though there's probably others. (I'm a huge news junkie, lol)

Have to agree... McCain's a geriatric circus, and the Dem campaign is... I dunno what, but sillyness is a good word for it!
