I had this idea and I want to know what you guys think. I'm blazing and I just saw a commercial for a vacuum sealer. I was thinking, after my first harvest and I had everything nice and cured, could I vacuum seal it to preserve that fresh fresh freshness?

Yes. That's common practice in commercial circles. But home growers who value their buds generally keep them in glass mason jars in a cool, dark place. Vac bags compress the buds unnecessarily.

What about vacuum sealing a mason jar? best of both worlds

if ya buy one, spend some money ... I bought a cheaper ($40) 'DENI' vacuum-sealer, aint worth a shit ... packages, but only seals airtight about 5% of the attempts (not exaggerating, it sucks ... but, too weak to crush the buds, anyway) ... :(

I'm with JeffersonBud.....vacum sealing mason jars is really great storage, my machine has a nice attachment that works great .

But one giant cola, about 12" long, does look so nice even in a vac bag.

I bought a vacu-seal made by a company called pack-mate. It was around 25 bucks bought online. The bags are ziplocks with a small attachment that connects to the suction device.

The ziplock portion of the bag seals fine but the attachment on the bag for the suction device tends to leak.

I had some sticky putty (packaged as a sticky stuff to hold posters and such on the wall). After shoving a bit of that into the attachment after i've vacuumed the bag I've had no more leaks.
