Hey everyone,

Iv just built a grow cab and would like to know if there is anything i could change or do better. My cab is a 90cm x 30cm x 44cm and i am growing 4 plants in 2 large autopots. I have a huge induction fan on the back wall of the cab sucking hot air out of the cab.

Lighting:
2 x t4 compact fluro tube 18w 880lumens 6200k
2 x cfl 23w 1550luments 6400k
3 x cfl 10w unknown lumens 4100k
Flowering
For flowering im using the same lights but all in 2600k which adds a few more lumens and i am also adding a growlush 100w (400w) cfl 2700k.

Nutes:
Im using canna vega a+b for veg and flora a+b for flower and starting at 1/4 strenght for 1 week then 1/2 strenght for 2 weeks then full strenght. Im using purified water with a ph or 6.8.

Im using strait perlite in an autopot auto watering soil-less hydro setup with a 60l resevoir. I am going to use lst and topping to keen a nice low canopy. If anyone can offer advice of my lighting or when i might be able to start lsting and flowering that would be great.

Iv included some shots of my cab and my plants after 3 weeks (dunno why there so small i think i could have stunted their growth with an overdose of canna rhizo.

So iv just changed the lighting setup, for the best i hope. Iv changed from my old clfs to a 150w MH for veg and a 75 or 150w HPS for flower. The mh sits around 1.5 foot away from the plants at this stage and will eventually be around .8-1 foot away from the canopy. Im also still running the 2 23w 1550lm 6400k cfls. Do you guys see any problems with what i have got ? Any comments ?

Any yes im aiming at a fairly low sog using lst but im not sure how close i am able to get to the MH/HPS. Once i induce flowering i could pick the males and clone the ladies and get 6-8 clones and then i will remove the auto-pot and grow all my clones in low-set pots which will help me get a bigger yeild. Hopefully :)

do you have a thermometer in there? I know you have that huge exhaust but still.. might be a good idea to check on the temps.

Also, what are you doing for intake? I didnt notice in your pictures. Your plants need fresh air, and your exhaust will work to its full potential if there isnt so much negative pressure.

at the moment temps are between 80-84 with the lights on and one door open for fresh air. Im thinking i might get a pc fan for the back panel, il have to put it just below the exhaust but it should do the trick. Do i need to have the exhaust going when the lights are off ? Also the MH Lamp is 4000k, is this the right spectrum ?

Thanks for the help mate :)

ah, if stealth isnt an issue for you and you have the one door open, then nevermind. And yeah, that MH will work for you in veg, although you might want to consider switching to HPS during flowering.

temps in my cab are about the same range as yours, so I hope we're okay :)

i hope so too :) when i shut the door the temps go upto around 90F, would that be because its not getting enought airflow. Would the pc fan fix this problem?

Good Luck with you grow :)

yeah its probably because when you shut the doors there is like no airflow coming in. You could cut a 2" hole and add a PVC elbow for a passive intake, or like you said cut that pc fan into the side and use it as an active intake.

Thanks for the good luck, I need it!

You need to get that hot air out. Forcing colder air in without any return will not do much. Make an outlet with an inline fan and attach a carbon filter for smell. You can get a 4 inch inline with 80 cfm from home depot. You can make the filter from kitty litter or active carbon found at a pet store.
