Hi everyone.

Today I planted 5 bag seeds that I got from a friend, and this will be my first time growing. The idea that I have is to grow indoors for at least 3 weeks for the plant to mature and have enough strength for the outdoors.

Information About The Grow

Water - Tap water / Well water
Fertilizers - Perlite + Miracle grow 5-15-5
Soil - Seed starter for indoors, organic soil for outdoors
Lighting - 1 120 watt CFL light

If you could give me tips or advice on anything it would be appreciated, I will update this log every weekend.

Thanks

Forgot to add pictures :D

First pic should be the styrofoam cups with the seeds in them.

Sorry guys, I should have put in a little more info... I am germinating my seeds by putting them in about 2 cm of organic soil, then watering them with warm water 2 times a day. Also in a couple of days I am going to put 24/0 lighting on them for 1-2 weeks then switch to 18/6. On the 3rd or 4th week I should be transplanting them outside into the natural sun.

Also, if anyone can give me tips on how to make it grow bushier instead of taller, it would be appreciated, I would like to learn more about the method of cutting the main cola to stunt the growth.

Thanks

For low, bushy seedlings use daylight spectrum (5000K or 6500K). Keep the light as close to the plants as possible. I used a two lamp 4 foot flourescent T-8 tubes 1-4 inches from the plants. I'd also start with deeper cups than those. 16 oz keg party cups!

I have been watering my seeds once every 30-40 hours. Just put the light on them, and no heat is generated off this bulb, which is good. I am going to check on the pH every hour or so to see how the moisture is going in the soil. Another 2 weeks for 24/0 then 16/8.

Hopefully by this weekend I will have small sprouts.
