I love these guys, the music is absolutely insane. Just a bass player, who tunes his bass like a cello and still rocks the fuck out, and a drummer who is the singer but uses a modified mic he just shoves in his mouth... It's loud and noisy but thats intentional , they are really skilled, the drummer never misses a beat and he's going super fast and the bass player is crazy skilled.
Wonderful Rainbow and Hypermagic Mountain are awesome albums.

I've seen Lightning Bolt 15+ times at least in the Providence area over the years
They used to play a lot of shows with An Albatross and Daughters.

Ah sweet, I totally wanna see them live someday, I love how they refuse to play onstage. It seems they don't come to the midwest as often though. An Albatross I haven't heard of Daughters I've heard of but haven't really listened to.

Lightning Bolt is the shit. im way too addicted to them. Assassins used to be my alarm clock, hehe. Although they're really stripped down to the bone there noisy as fuck. Birdy is a perfect example of the sheer velocity that is lightningbolt.

You are so damn lucky. I'd pay serious money to see them live. I never heard a band that plays so hard with so much energy.

I tuned my bass like a cello the way Brian Gibson does, it's weird cause the note relation between strings is different, I'm trying to teach myself how to play "Crown of Storms" damn the tapping is tricky on the bass. Lets just say as simple as some of the riffs may sound, even the simple ones take considerable skill on the bass. He's an amazingly skilled player.
