So I've been planning to build a 3'x2'x3' NGB box.
The Veg chamber will be 2x1x2 and flower 2x2x3

I acquired this 400w HPS lamp and I want to know two things:
1. Am I able to do the quick hack to make it work?
2. With a 465cfm pole blower (https://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=46486) Will I be able to keep my temps down?
also, i plan to buy this for the veg: https://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=50100
is this okay?
thank you very much!

about the light from HTG... I just ordered HTG's brand of T5, its 2' with two bulbs, and its 10k lumens total, which I believe is 2k more than the sylverstar, and its cheaper.
HTG Supply Two Lamp Two Foot High Output Compact T5 Fluorescent Grow Light System. Comes complete with two Compact T5 High Output (PLL-55W) GROW SPECTRUM Fluorescent Bulbs. This system emits an incredible 10,000 lumens! Perfect for Orchids, Small Gardens, Cloning/Cuttings, Mother Plants or Supplemental lighting.
$69.95

Looks pretty good.... Half the bulbs and 2k more lumens. My only concern with this would be how high it is, since the ballast and everything is contained in there

Do you have any more info on that lamp? Like the box it came in? Looks like a street/security light. 400watts you need more vertical room.

Where's the ballast?
You could open the top of the box and make it taller if you're stuck using this light.
I don't think the bulb is designed for growing though.
If it were me I would see if it comes apart so that you can ditch that case and replace it with a batwing.

The Veg chamber will be 2x1x2 and flower 2x2x3You are supposed to wait until after harvest to cook your mj, that light is going to be way too hot for that size chamber, a stand-alone 2 door wardrobe/closet is around the size you want for a 400w HID. I would be looking at using around 4 20w CF's in the veg and a 200w CF in the flower chamber myself, they aren't as good as HID's but you don't have a lot of options unless you go for a bigger set-up.
What ventilation are you planning to run? Good airflow is every bit as important as good light.

Well there's a guy over at ICmag that has the same cab and runs 300w hps, he uses a 160 cfm dayton pole blower fan, my plan would be to use a 400w hps w/ 465c cfm dayton pole blower, is this possible?

The light you have in your pix is a MH light. You look at the lable it says 400W MH and a few other numbers. Those light are sealed weather tied for out doors. If you put it in a small space you are going to have big heat problems. In a full size wardrow cab you will have to air cool the light. My cab is a full size 50" wide 76" tall and 27" deep with 400w kooltube and it gets 78-82 in there and it's air cool light. You can put a glass shield between the light and the grow and exhaust the air from the light and you would cut down the heat. PEACE
