As an ex soldier I find the way the brit goverment is treating Gurkhas to be nothing short of disgusting.
I have met many of these extremely brave soldiers and they are simply the most courteous , respectful and loyal people I have ever had the good fortune to meet.
My request is could all Brits here take a few seconds out of thier day to sign this Petition to: give all Ex Gurkha soldiers and their families who have served our country British citizenship on leaving the service. (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Gurkha-soldiers/)

Thanks folks.

I'm not English, but, if I may, I think I can shed some light on this.

The Gurkhas are a fierce people from Nepal who were recruited into the British army. Don't you remember the glorious days of the Raj when it was a common daily occurrence for The Poobah to dispatch 10,000 Gurkhas to the Khyber Pass for slaughter?

The Gurkhas are not to be confused with gherkins, which are small prickly cucumbers that are made into delicious sweet pickles. England could easily absorb 3 million gherkins, because that is less than one pickle per person, and they are quite small, and they are so good that people often want two, so 3 million might not even be enough, but certainly there are more where those came from, so no worries.

I hope this helped.

Done.

What, they fought for our country and now they can't stay in our country?

Fook that.

No doubt some of them have hash connections back home, and will be able to get some great Nepalese stuff sent over to England. That alone is worth signing the petition for.

I'd let one of them stay in my house if he went home every year and brought back a big ball of charas.

Done.
The UK Government treats everyone with contempt and disdain especially it's own citizens.

Thanks folks. McLeodGanja sorry about the stupid comment when giving you rep I didn't read the whole list and didn't realise you had signed but you are still welcome to the rep of course. :D
I have served alongside Gurkhas and believe me when I say they are extremely brave , courteous and loyal people.
They have served our country with distinction over the years and deserve better treatment than they are currently receiving.
This goverment of ours fills me with disgust.

Done, will have to confirm it at work as the e-mail went there but at least that will waste 3 seconds of monday!

Very worthy cause, from the little i know about them i'd say they deserve to live in England more than most of the people who are born here!

Typical - it's OK for you to die serving the Country you can't live in.

Sometimes this country makes my shit itch.
