Today marks day 28 into flower. I have raised my light as high as it can possibly get, so I'm going to have to start some sort of tieing it down as gingerly as possible (if someone suggests otherwise I am listening.)

From another one of my posts, seems I overgrew the plants and as suggested my bottom growth is looking pitiful. Should I trim? Some of the bottom growth has a few small buds but I'n mot expecting much from the bottom. If I should trim does anyone have any suggestions.

I'm going to want to clone when I harvest, once again any good suggestions. Stinky I did read your comment in my other post and I will folow that as well.

My EC is about 2400 with PH between 5.5 and 6.2.

Other than that, all comments welcome.

I personally would not run an ec over 2.4....is that what you meant or did you mean 2400tds?

Yes....start bending....I wouldn't pull stuff off the bottom......its just going to make your grow take longer as the plants stops and concentrates on that. Bend! Bending is your friend!! :D

Thanks for chiming in weedhound. Yes I meant 2400 tds, sorry. I'll start bending tonight.

BTW....how large should my buds be looking like in 28 days.

They look a litte small BUT WAIT....I think that is because they are planning a huge party down the road. With the size of your plants it will take them longer to finish....by perhaps a week or two......but it will be worth every extra minute so don't be surprised if they don't seem to be growing as "fast" as a smaller plant.

Ps.....I've had some rootbound issues with larger plants in my hydro setup so keep a good eye on your roots.....make sure they are getting circulation, O2 etc......

Well my roots are all bound together in one brick basically. They get plenty of air and water appropriately, because I designed the hydro rig to be two chambers. The bottom container is a resevoir and the upper contains the plants. When the watering cycle stops everything drains to the bottom and within an 20 minutes the top has completely dried. I have two huge air stones in the bottom res always pumping air in the mixture. This has been a big pain for me over the past few weeks because I clean the containers every weekend and the plants are getting heavy and cumbersome. I'll most likely design and easier way to do this on my next grow depending on my yield. I'm hoping for a decent yield after all the time and money I put into this but we'll see.....I'm not going to go overboard in my hopes....just slightly wishful!

As for bending, no matter which way I bend I'm definetly going to cover the light going down to the bottom. Do I just let those die off normally?

When you say they are going to have a party in the end then I assume you are meaning they are going to get larger and swell? So basically I am waiting until I have about a 50% color discoloration in the trichomes?

Next time I do this I am going to cut clones from the current two plants that I have. How long do I veg those for? After what I have been reading in comments and such I will keep them topped off at about 12 inches and when I go into flowering I let them get as large as they want....does that sound right?

Thanks for all the advice and comments!!!

I think I can safely say that you will not be wanting in the yield dept unless you have some sort of huge problem between now and then.

You have several more weeks to go....YES those things are going to swell and get bigger...MUCH bigger than they are now. :woohoo:

Can't help you with clone info because I am quite the infant in that dept.....am just trying some clones for the first time myself.

If you really mean 2400.....SCARY! I wouldn't go over 1300 myself but that's just me. If your plants are doing well with that ....more power to you!!

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking about the bottom but if there are damaged/dying leaves or anything I will pick things that are more than 50% dead and leave the rest as a rule. The plant DOES use nutrients etc out of leaves imo so I try to leave them when I can.

At this point keeping an eye on your roots is very important....make sure they aren't crushing EACH OTHER out.....good that they are getting lots of air and circulation.

Maybe I'm giving you the wrong calculation......how about 1500 PPM....that's the conversion from my meter at .5. I brought it up today to 3000 with a fresh change of water and nutes. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that in the last month I need to be around 1500PPM which comes out to 3000 on my meter ....or using a .5 conversion, 1500 PPM.

You're a little late for cloning, but just take some now from the bottom. I can't make heads or tails of your tds reading. Just switch to EC. Looking at your plant though I wouldn't worry about it, they look good.

You need to start pruning now. Take off all of the flowers up to top 12" or so. Also take off the associated fan leaf. I know that stresses you out, but don't worry, it's what the plant needs. After you get comfortable with that in a future grow you will pick your four favorite branches and completely prune the others leaving just 4 colas.

50% amber trichs is way too late. Or did you mean pistils? Look for 50% cloudy trichs than start to flush.
