Ok, I'll just start out with what I have...

2.5'x2'x2' growing cabinet
two 24" 70 watt bulbs
226led light arriving tomorrow
panda film on it's way
4 1 gallon pots
some fans on order
miracle grow potting soil

So far I have the two lights set to 18/6 cycles and will be joined by the LED lights with they arrive. The soil was something I bought before really looking into growing, so right now I'm not sure if I made the smartest decision.

I'm growing from seeds and they were planted 3 days ago. So far I've just been keeping the soil wet. I planted probably about 8 plants in each pot. This is so I will have some left after sexing. So no I do not plan on growing that many plants in one pot.

From what I have so far, can I still plan on getting something out of this grow? I'm hoping I didn't make a bad decision with the soil I picked. As long as I get something out of this, I will be happy. Then I will know better for next time. I actually plan on splitting the cabinet into halves so I can have a veg side and a flower side.

Considering I have such a small space, I will probably want to go from veg to flower in a short time period. What is the minimum amount of weeks I should veg? I'm not worried about producing a lot, just enough to have for personal use. I can worry about high yielding later on, I just want to get a feel for what I'm doing for now.

I will get pictures probably tonight or tomorrow. Any suggestions anyone can provide me until then would be great.

Thanks!

from what i've learned here on the forums, you can start flowering as soon as the plant shows sexual maturity (when first set of 5 finger leaves appear, correct me if I'm wrong).

good luck man :)

btw - I just spilled my bong 2 times in 5 minutes.. 2nd time I broke it. I'm such a goof :(

Thanks. I guess I should of posted this in basic growing. Oh well, I'll probably just start a log soon. I have 6 of them sprouting right now. So I'll probably start to take pictures today, then start my own grow log with better info on what I have.

Speaking of bongs, I should buy a real one. All I have are homemades. They get the job done though. ;)

DON'T GROW MULTIPLE PLANTS IN THE SAME POT! The roots will become intertangled, and you'll end up losing both plants. Get them into their own pots as quickly as possible, preferably from the start. You can use plastic beer cups with holes cut or drilled in them for drainage. You'll have to replant once or twice, but that's normal...and it's better than losing plants. Plants that are 3-4" apart in a pot will have their roots tangled within 2 weeks, probably sooner.

You really need to wait until the plant is at or near sexual maturity to switch over to flower. Check for when your plant has alternating branches/nodes; that;s usually the sign. Keep your lights as low as you can to prevent stretching. LST the plants if they're going to be too tall; expect them to double or even triple in height in flower. This thread

http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/152040-minimum-veg-time-decent-quantity.html

asks some of the same questions; search around for more answers. In my experience...figure 3 weeks minimum until the plants is ready to be switched over to 12/12. And that will be a pretty small plant. The difference between 3 weeks and 5 weeks is huge.

Thanks for the suggestions. Chances are I will not be visiting this thread or adding to it anymore. So please visit the link provided in my last post for pics, comments or just to see how my grow is going.

Thanks again,
