Hey out there! I've done alot of investigating about growing your own compared to using a co-op. I found that as long as you stay within the limits of the law you'll be just fine. That is as long as you have your medical cannibis state ID. I have found that the feds do not bust anyone growing less than 100 plants. It's just not worth it to them.

My comments were and are backed by reading about drug busts and yes I even read that article above. Let me first say this. 1. who was this guy? Did he have the "Right" to grow? Did someone turn him into DEA because they wanted his appartment? I mean it's right on the beach! Was he dealing? How many trash bags? a few? large trash bags? there are to many variables.....

Ok let me say this another way....If you do grow as a "care-giver" for legael patients, within the legal limits of the law. In an out of the way state. In an out of the way area and you keep your grow small and no one ever, ever comes to you for their "medicine" you will be ok. I do not reccomend growing 100 plants. Period. what I am saying keep it as small as possable. Stick to the laws of your state for MMJ patients. I have found many articles about local police that have had to "Return" the crop and all of materials back to the medical cannibis grower, because they were well within the limits of the state law. I hope this sheds some light on what I was saying.:jointsmile:

Well just so you know 100 plants will never be considered "out of the way" nor small 100 plants is a freakin huge op. Keeping it small is like 1-5 plants depending on if you grow SOG SCROG or your supercropping cause with weed 1 scrog plant can produce 5 SOG plants worth of weed. Also you keep saying "care-giver" THIS DOES NOT APPLY WITH FEDS!!!!! If you go to court for federal charges you cant even mention you grow medical marijuana they make it seem like you grow for profit.

in california the state law overrides local authorities my buddy has a grow card for like 120 somthing MATURE plants to sell to a dipensary and in oakland the city runs their own dispensary and in the la area wher i live im aloud to smoke in public i hollywood santmonica and other places and the cops can say nada. the dea is another story but !@#$ them as far as they are concerned it all illegal and you thank bush 1 for that and the abolishment of the federal marijuana medical research. so stick to the script play by the rules grow what you want dont even tell yourself what you do and youll be aight. Grow your own but keep your freakin' mouth shut about it, whether or not you have a state permit. Don't forget that thieves like pot too.

from my reading knowledge federal law over rides all state and local law which seems to be the problem in the courts since medical has been passed.

fyi, i believe it was during Angel Reich's case before the Supremes that the court ruled that even someone using Cannabis to battle cancer, if caught with only six(6) plants, can be arrested by the feds and locked up in a federal prison! this is not acceptable by any reasonable person.

There is no legal limit of marijuana sick patients can grow according to federal laws, anyone growing marijuana, regardless of reason, is at risk of federal arrest.

This is not at all true, neither Prop 215 nor SB420 protect medical marijuana patients from using cannabis in the public. The only reason the cops have not harrassed you is because they have decided to not make medical marijuana a big priority in those cities, but if they want they can arrest you for possession. Currently many cities have bans on medical marijuana co-ops, which is why I have to drive over 100 miles to get my medicine. If state law does override local law, then a lot of local communities are illegally banning medical co-ops and this won't change until someone challenges these cities in court. And you don't get grow cards, either you are legal or you are not. There are no special permits or cards for growers.

the cops were always pretty cool about weed when i lived in san mo many years back (pre-215). i got pulled over in west la once after the cops saw us hitting a j, (this was my younger wilder daze :rastasmoke:), i go back and talk to the cops and they ask me to cross my eyes, i was kinda like :wtf: and did a half assed attempt at crossing my eyes, then the young cop comes over and tells me when his partner comes back i had better prove i can cross my eyes or they were going to arrest me, so i did and they sent me on my way :cool: i loved la. :hippy:
