Smoking Method - Solar Toking

Here is another smoking method I have come across in my years: "Solar Smoking" It's kinda like vaporizing I think.. It's very easy and sooooo much better than a normal high with a butane lighter or anything.

Requirements: Sunny day(no clouds no haze), Magnifying glass, pipe(i prefer a clean glass one)

Simply break your weed up fairly fine, put it in the pipe, and focus the sun's light on the weed with the magnifying glass. It's better to go outside, doesnt work as good through a window unless it's open. And dont let the weed actually catch on fire. Slowly vaporize it. Takes some patience sometimes, other times it lights up too fast lol. Gonna take you a little practice :D Good weed works better than schwaggy junk.

A good thing about this method is you can do it outside and the wind doesnt affect it at all, unless you're not careful and let it blow the weed out of the pipe. But because there is no flame involved, wind doesnt matter.

Yeah it might sound like a real geeky way of smoking weed, but try it out before you call me a dork. It really works, and I LOVE the fantastic high I get from it.

I learned about this from a book called the Cannabible, a great book if you're looking for one.

What do you mean, don't let the weed actually catch on fire? can you go into more detail as to exactly how you're supposed to light the weed with the magnifying glass? I used to always burn stuff with a magnifying glass as a kid, but never weed. I am very interested in this.

Yes it is a different kind of high. A very great soaring high as someone above said. I really like it.

Yeah, it makes weed last alot longer using this method.

And about not letting it catch on fire. If you were just using the magnifying glass to burn the weed, what would be the point? Might as well just use a lighter lol. What i try to do is slowly move the focused light around in a small circle so it doesnt get too hot in one spot. Gets too hot = fire.
The reason for all this I guess I dunno. It's scientific. Dont think about it too much just try it out :P It's a mystery oOooOoooOoh *scooby music* lol.

I just tried doing it. I'm blazed out of my mind , but I think I let the weed burn a little too much. I'm gonna go try it again, while the sun is out. Thanks for the help groundkinomoto, I'll report back with the results from the next experiment.

I just brought out my bong and took magnifying glass hits out of it. It's so crazy, such a different high. I'm fuckin LIT. And now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to play resident evil 4.

Someone asked how long it takes for the bud to start burning? About 1 to 2 seconds. Lol. Just gotta practice. keep slowly hitting it but dont keep the light focused in one spot. Small circles is the key.

Yeah I didnt think of it either til i read it in the Cannabible. Hopefully cuz of my post man, this gets big all over the world!! lol.. well i think alot of people already know about it, but man, spread the word!!

I've been getting just blasted via these methods for years though haha. :) It can start to get old after a while though, I just do it once in a while, when i remember, or when i am around friends who've, omg, never heard of it!! Oh and by the way i just remembered. My dad even made a little stand to hold the magnifying glass. He's such a dork lol but it's AWESOME. It just stands there on its own, and you can move the bowl around underneath it. Try it out sometime and email me with your various inventions please, I'd like to hear about it. i'm gonna try this method as soon as it stops snowing and the sun comes out. Were supposed to get like 5'' today. Meanwhile, i'm hoping my bro picked up an eighth for me, or else i'm not going to be a happy camper.

This method works very, very well if your conserving weed. You can corner the bowl very precisely and get at least 5-6 huge green rips. Reccomended.

Yes, I am forever in debt to Groundkinomoto for posting that. I would reccomend it to anyone who has decent hand/eye coordination.

however, My bowl keeps getting cherried when I do this and I can't seem to put it out. I guess i need more practice, but the first few rips are always killer.

Hey Slip, I just checked out the Cannabis Grow Bible, it is nothing like the Cannabibles at all. I think you have them confused with other books. Both the Cannabible's are not about growing at all. They are conisseur books that document the thousands of different strains. While the Cannabis Grow Bible has great info on growing, it can't even come close to the strain info and high quality pictures of the Cannabible's. Jason King did an amazing job with these two books, and I can't wait until the 3rd book is published. :)

First Cannabible has a black cover with a pic of a bud on it, second is a red cover with a Spirit of 76 bud, with purple hairs on the cover. Both books are almost exclusively pictures of buds, with the effects and tastes listed. No grow info at all really. :)

Well I tried somthing like that after watchin my brother write his name in a block of wood with a magnifying glass, except when I did i, i was just trying to lite it not vaporize it. I'll have to try vaporizing it some time.

one of the main joys of solar hits is the fact that no butane is flowing thru the weed, which makes it taste amazingly better...ever notice how when you pack a huge bowl the bottom half of it is usually pretty disgusting? Thats from all the butane going in the weed, not to mention the tiny pieces of flint from flicking the light everytime it gets hit (which some people have the bad smoking habit of flicking the lighter practically in the bowl)

I just ordered one and it works great!
I, too had read about solar-hitting in the Cannabible but hadn't yet tried it. The Phedor gives thesame result but you don't have to be in the sun. Its a little plug-in gizmo with a ceramic tube that heats up. You can stick it in the bowl to ignite it or hold it over the "aromatic tobacco" (per the web site) to sort of vaporize it.
Works like a charm...but they're too expensive.,,,$150.00. They are solidly built and carry a lifetime guarantee.
The company also makes the much-acclaimed "Vapeziilla" which won't be available for a while. There's a waiting list for them.

hell yea, im glad someone else know this method, solar hits are the best besides vaporizing. the high is more clear and uplifting, u actually feel HIGH, its badass, the smoke is so clean bc its just your lungs and solar power from the sun, the smoke tastes significantly better as well, bc no butane from a lighter, solar rip that shit....
