My research shows that petitions do not work in Florida. We can get referendums put on the ballot. But, Florida has rigged that up so that it's almost impossible to get one through. I've been looking for a referendum to get registered voters to sign. I've checked all the prominent organizations. But, the apathy after so many failed petitions is palpable. It's going to take one or more wealthy patrons to sponsor a referendum & hire the lawyers to get the wording exactly right. So, does anyone out there know of a referendum or potential sponsors? I have to to admit that my research has gotten me pretty pissed at the pols here. The latest news is that they want to make the laws even more oppressive than federal laws. Has this states lawmakers lost their minds? Prohibition doesn't work. Creates organized crime & now the risk/profit is going to make the streets run red with a tidal wave of blood. Blockheads.

I'm not sure about who all could financially support you, but here at NORML@UCF we are doing what we can. I am heading the Global Marijuana March at Orlando City Hall on May 3, 2008.

You are a leader & a soldier. I prefer to work door to door with educational materials. I'm looking to join a referendum signature drive too. I salute you. I pray that you are not arrested like most of the major activists have been. You know that we live in a police state with a hyper-sensitive government. The laws are set to become more draconian than the federal laws. So, please, don't carry or use any illegal substances in your vehicle or on your person during public activities. We need you to stay on the loose. It's hard to bring down someone who hasn't done anything wrong. Also, I would advise you to surround yourselve with clean-cut activists (with no criminal records) who can act as witnesses in case someone wants to plant evidence. Do you have anyone who can watch your vehicle? Can't be too careful. The facts & the truth are on our side. God bless you & yours as you go forth in the cause. Peace.

The silence is deafening. Maybe, Florida is just not worth the effort. It's one tough nut. A whole lot of old die hards in Congress are going to have to give up the ghost before we have a sensible policy here. Such a shame. Many more decent people are gonna have to experience our prison system in the mean time. In the mean time, I'll keep setting little brush fires in the minds of voters here.
