goblin with 4" vortex

can i use a 4 inch vortex rated at 172 cfm with a goblin carbon filter rated at 250+ cfm?

will i get extended life from it from not pushing it to the max?

or will it fail to filter properly due to not enough preassure?

any help would be great

Altho I think you always want a little bit more power then what you need. running a fan at its max all the time will def shorten it's life significantly.
