View Full Version : Anyone else have an impaired sense of time and reality?

After smoking lots and lots of weed in short amounts of time, trying HBWR seeds, salvia and being on percocet for almost a month my sense of time and reality is shifted to an enormous degree I like to think of it in the terms that Aldous Huxley put them at the very end of Doors of perception ( i dont have the book with me but it goes something like this) ...and he who has been through the Door in the wall will be much more wise, but less cock-sure of himself. and other notions to that same tome. I feel that that is perfectly in sync with where I'm at right now...I mean I used to have a fairly good grip on reality but now its like a rollercoaster that is just twisting and turning and whirling up and down and doing loops and slowing down and speeding up. Its kinda of hard to describe but its like part of my mind has been killed or made numb by the drugs but like Huxley said it was just the filter that filters out all of the inconcievable and impossible realities and universes out there, so for any of you who havn't yet read doors of perception get your ass up and go buy it!
This feeling I have is so confusing and enlightening at the same time and its just so fucking hard for me to comprehend! Does anyone have any tips for gaining control of the unfiltered mind so-to-speak? Any experiances or anything that any of you have had that are relevant would also be helpful.
Thanks so much and I know this post is hard too read but im currently operating on 20 mg of oxycodone...
P.S. I love you all, yes even you Torog, and no that isn't just the Oxycodone either. Although it might be helping to bring it out.
PPS Mello.As.Hello I sent you an e-mail please reply to it...thanks so much!

they can be pretty closely related hehehe
but yeah, practice putting yourself in a state of complete mental neutrality. It can be fun :D
and everyday bullshit will just seem a little less bothersome to yee as well

I've tried meditating, in fact my dad has been doing it every day since he was like 15 years old so I learned from him, but when i try to meditate it seem to use my minds filter to block EVERYTHING not just everday bullshit but just plain everything, learn to deal with my broken filter and learn from it, I want to understand what it is that I'm feeling. This lack of importance of life and feeling of a greater meaning, I think its what others would refer to as God or something but I can't even force myself to believe in "God" in the convetional sense but as just more of a divine truth not in the corporial sense but something much harder to grasp, its like I'm on the verge of either full blown enlightenment or full blown insanity if only there was a way to convey what I'm experiancing to everyone because I don't think literary mechanics or verbal expressions do it any justice whatsoever.
Well sorry to ramble on but I'm going to go to sleep now, I'll try and post some more tomorrow. See you all later! Bye!!!

I think some drugs open up parts of the mind. The second time I did acid my reality changed permanently, it was if I was seeing everything with new eyes and everything looked as if it had a shine to it. Was pretty good but eventually I got used to the reality change so i might have to bring it back to life hehe :D. Just enjoy the changes while theyr there bcos they keep life interesting. Im curious of these symptoms you're having cos lately Ive been overcome by what I can only describe as a complete awareness, I doubt we have the same "condition" but by understaning yours it may help me understand mine a little better. This may not make any sense as Im a very confused person at the moment so if it doesnt just ignore my rambling

the other night i had an experiance alot like that only it was just weed it was kinda on the shwaggy side so i smoked a whole dime needless to say standing up wasn't on my to do list, then came the music =) i put on the postal service and drifted away it was like i could feel the music rolling though me and when i closed my eyes particles of every color imaginable would stream past and i would get the intense feeling i was flying though the colors in my mind,it was the most intense trip i've had on pot and came close to my first acid trip i was so lucky to have the other day =) btw it you ever do acid put on the modest mouse cd 'good news for people who love bad news' or any postal service song.and meditateing is hard for me why i do not know but i cant seem to gain control over my thought,i end up thinking about everything although the few times i have acheived peace i've blocked out everything i ended up just sitting for a few hours once i couldnt hear ,see(well my eyes we're closed),smell, feel or any other sence it was amazeing
and i like you also need to get laid =(

some people like to think that drugs shut down parts of your brain, but i think it opens up new parts of your brain.. maybe what youre experiencing is a hightened awareness of reality? it may be a good thing if you learn to embrace it.. but then again, you might be going mental lol

mabey reality doesnt exist, and everything is just perception.

how can you percieve something which does not exist? somebody or something must be there to do the 'percieving', and something or somebody cannot exist without some form of reality to exist in.. :p
never been that stoned off weed. but when ur trippin on stuff you lose all sense of time.

ok, how about reality is something that exists but can not be understood because everyones perception is reality for that person and no person has the same perception of the world, so therefore reality is in essense nothing because there is no agreed upon definition of it.

but if its undecided on what it actually is than its everything at the same time so reality is nothing and everything

Dude i think a lot like you. I've done all the drugs that you listed plus acid, shrooms, ecstacy, and meth. My perception of reality is so distorted and i realize this, buts its as if i've completley forgotten what my reality once was. I am also a strong athiest and i see no real meaning in life, because no matter how much I achieve here on earth, it is completley meaningless to the rest of the universe and will all be lost someday anyway. Its like I see things as they really. For instance, i dont see a car as a car anymore, i now see it is as a meaningless arrangement of metal and rubber that we use for transportation. I feel this way about everything, its like now i see everythign to be the sum of its parts which for soem reason has my mind convinced that it is meaningless. Once i start to think this way it is impossible to convince my mind otherwise, its unshakable. other people dont even seem to exist anymopre, its like im in my own world, everyone else is just an illusion. I dont know if this shit is from teh drugs or what but i fuckin hate it.
