how far apart should you plant your plants if you are not using feminized seeds and you dont want polination? (checking for males every now and then in not an option)

Hey MP if you're talking about outdoors there's no real way to ensure that a male doesn't pollinate a female. You have to consider the fact that winds and insects can carry pollen a very far distance. The best you can do is simply space them out enough so they have enough elbow room to grow and check for males!

yay bob posted!!
thats true about bugs and wind, but i really wont be able to check for males, i guess i will plant them about 10 feet apart and hope for the best.

Sounds then like your best choice is to go with feminized seeds and pray non of them are that "fluke" male.

i would but i already bought my 20 manitoba poison seeds without even thinking about polination so i guess we will see what happens, hopefully i dont end up with a million seeds with very little bud

well pollen can be carried by wind upto 100 miles atleast. (grandfather was a farmer)
but if you get seeds just plan wisly and create your own new breed.

Plant them at entirelly different locations. Opposite sides of town. And then another plant in a nearby town, 10 minutes away or so..

would be good if i could do that but it might be too much hassle, also i havent exactly decided how many plants im doing, its going to be a minimum of 20 but i might decide to go as high as 60 and it would be tough going to 20-60 different grow sites

a mile is still quite far for me especially if it is 20-60 plants, they will we grown in a corn field so maybe the corn will act as a bit of a barrier?
thanks

20-60 plants all in one place is bound to attract attention. Be careful with that.

I'll second a mile as a reasonable distance. Place your seed patch downwind (look up prevailing wind direction in your area) from the bud patch. Cannabis is a wind-pollinated plant. This should be fine to ensure that you have the fewest possible seeds in your crop.

Meh... not much of a date. Coffee after work... bit of chitchat... I don't even know why I bother. It's not like I can actually date with my lifestyle. It's kinda isolating. Well, REALLY isolating. I need a grower boyfriend lol!

here i am!! no honestly though i would be on you like white on rice if i lived in your area lol. I love a girl with so much knowledge, especially with knowledge about something i have so much joy in doing. (drools at the thought of teaming with THEE stinkyattic to grow cannabis)

Awwww shush I'm turning pink.
You know, whole grains are more wholesome! :D
I so wish that this hobby were fully legal and open to everyone so this wouldn't even be an issue!!!!

i agree, you cant trust anyone, unless you know them inside and out. Besides family i only have a single friend that knows about my grows. Even some of my family members can`t be trusted

oh and from what ive heard bout plants gettin pollinated if somebody elese leaves males out to grow within a fairly large radius of urs are n the winds gusts in the wrong dirrection 1 day u get some lovely seeds to deal with which sucks
