How do you get your plants bushy? They are about a week old and about 2inchs. They are showing their second set of leafs. Is there something I can do this early or do you have to wait?? If so when and where. Anything tips will help. Thanks!

nothing you can do now. When they are about 2 months old and are growing fast and tall, just chop the top tip of the plant off. It will force the plant to grow outwards and thick, instead of tall and thin.

There are many things you can do much sooner than 2 months.
There is a lot of good information on cannabis.com about various methods for keeping plants low. (http://cannabis.com/growing/training-how-can-i-train-my-plants-for-a-lower-profile.html)
Lst, (http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/140716-lsttt-low-stress-twisty-tie-training.html) Scrog, (http://cannabis.com/growing/training-how-do-i-pre-train-my-plant-for-a-scrog-grow.html) and topping (http://cannabis.com/growing/training-should-i-prune-top-my-plants.html) are all discussed in depth.
Keeping your light at a proper distance (http://cannabis.com/growing/lighting-What_distance_should_my_light_be_from_my_plants.ht ml) from the canopy helps too.

I definitely agree with psteve, there are several ways to go about it. LST is my personal favorite since you can start training very early. I also veg my plants out a bit longer than most probably would (sometimes 2-3 months longer), and this allows me to make a dense canopy of buds out of just a few females. I usually have less than five females. Working on a ScrOG setup to accommodate this, and as soon as I find the right strain for this kind of setup, I hope to start getting at least 1g for every watt of HID light that's being used.
But that may just be wishful thinking for a soil grower...

I find that light can be an element to bush out action. So my T5 for veg seems to bush out the ladies if the light is kept within a foot or so.

Pinch after the 5th node and any time thereafter, stopping at least 2 weeks before changing to flower.
