since you have a digi ph pen i would test the water before you add nutes and then after so you can see the ph swings before and after

I think stinky means adjust the pH Before you add nutrients to your hydro system or dirt.

When you add nutes your PH goes down not up.

Thats a good idea. So u are saying by making note of the swing i will better be able to predict how much it will adjust after adding nutes, so i can adjust Ph ahead of time to combat the nutes effect on Ph?? am i reading that right??

Wait what??? "to your hyrdo system or dirt" ? not following. I would really love to keep on doing it how i am doing it now because it is so simple.

from what i understand, when growing in dirt you really shouldnt mess with the ph unless your ready to do it every time you feed/water.
since your already doing it i dont really know what to say...ph in soil grows is confusing to me thats why i've never messed with it...

Ok, so how do u manage to adjust ur Ph first, then add your nutes without throwing off your Ph?? If u could help me out with this i would greatly appreciate it. I have been adjusting Ph after adding nutes an have recently heard that wrong.

Web Gallery Wizard™ (http://ganjaguerrilla.net/)
on top of page you will see link for streaming videos, click that then click the link for ph and watch the video, its great to help understand ph and testing better
if you use the same sources for feeding and watering you should beable to get a testing average and figure out what you need in the future without meters

From what I understand, this is not a hard process.
1. Start with filtered tap water, or bottled water, or some type of pure water.
2. Add nutes/superthrive, etc. as you wish.
Nutes almost always lower Ph. After adding just a few drops of Superthrive, my neutral water is around 4.
3. Check the Ph. More than likely you will have to add a few drops of Ph up.
4. So add a little bit, then check the Ph. Do this until you reach the desired Ph.
peace
